Does anyone else miss the igloos?

I wonder if this is a mistake...probably not as the campsite in nh is on a wooden platform now instead of being on the ground like in ac: pc and nl, making it impossible to build one.

Aww, I just had this nostalgic flashback to igloos in the original game.. hopefully they get added back in the future!

It's possible they removed them out of respect for the Inuit people who, as far as I'm aware, aren't too fond of outsiders using aspects of their culture for pop culture. I don't think the igloos were intentionally racist, but they may have come across that way to the people who traditionally use them in real life. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, mind you. I'm not Inuit so I don't really know, but seems like a distinct possibility)

Damn never realized they didn't have the igloo in this game. Now looking at the pictures of it, I'm kinda bummed out. I liked the interior of it in New leaf.

the igloo was a such cute feature, i had no idea it wasn't in NH!

I chose northern because I loathe snow with every fibre of my being.
I'd be happy if they would remove it completely for those of us that don't experience it or like it (some like it) in the southern hemisphere. Or at least give us a Tortimer style eternal summer island we can escape to.

That's a no, on the igloo.
It looked nice, but it represents an unnatural winter for me. :)

I loves seeing them in the igloos with a cauldron or soup! It was like them inviting me in to stay to eat a bowl of soup to help wake me up from the cold~

Forgot those existed. That's sad that it's gone :(
There's small nuances in NL that didn't make it in NH it seems and I think that sets the game apart. Those small details are nice to have

yesssss. i love AC changing things with the seasons, it would have been SO COOL to have expanded on that in this game instead of taking away - the campsite is even more of a required town work, so why not lean into that. especially with pocket camp introducing larger interactable concepts, why not! have the campsite change with the seasons, be a comfy sweet igloo in the winter and a cool sakura treehouse for spring, or a pool lounge pavilion in the summer and a giant pumpkin in the fall ? with cool music that changes w the seasons too!

:(( i feel so deprived.
