does anyone else get annoyed when villagers randomly move out?

i feel like everytime i open my NL game, one of my favourite villagers is about to leave!
first it was maple, then it was wolf link and now i've just turned my game on to find out chai is leaving

i'm so glad they removed this in NH because i don't know what i'd do if judy just packed up and hopped on the first flight off my island

agreed, this is why i constantly check up on my town to see if everything is going on well and everyone is still there, thankfully they still are

unfortunately issues like this occurred in my brothers town (i play on both mine and my brothers) and all our fav villagers kept moving out, my precious biskit at one point, and frank at another point. i literally loved them both even though i already have biskit in my town, it was still extremely upsetting seeing him gone in my brothers town

Yep, I'm no stranger to this. Stitches did that to me in my old town (and this is before I knew he was insanely popular) and I was kind of sad because I just met him 3 days prior to that, but he didn't mention moving at all. Lucky, since now I play new leaf every day in fear fang will stab me in the back like stitches did, this hasn't happened anymore.

Yes - I've pretty much given up on keeping all my favourite villagers ;-; It takes so long to get them out of the void, too. It's not really worth it tbh.

Fear of this is part of why I'm going to start collecting the amiibo cards of my dreamies. ;; Thankfully I haven't had it happen to me yet, but I start to get a little anxious when I go a few days without anyone mentioning moving.

This was a worry for me back in my first town. I'll always remember when Alfonso moved out from right under my nose, somehow. I bought all the Amiibo cards for my dreamies now, though, so I know that I'll never have to worry about them, even if I ever feel like taking a break from my town.

I don't think that this ever happened to me other than a few villagers moving out after I hadn't played for a while, but I wasn't too sad about them moving. I plan on getting amiibo cards of my faves when I get the chance just in case.

omg yes. i remember back when i was in 6th grade, i was going through a depressive episode and therefore didn’t play nl for about a week. when i finally booted the game back up, isabelle hit me with “oh by the way! you know beau? your favourite villager? well he’s leaving :3”. i was devastated. i’m so, so glad that random move outs aren’t a thing in new horizons.

I do get annoyed when villagers themselves randomly announce that they're going to move out (especially when I actually like them) and when other villagers are like "<villager> is toying with the idea of moving", but I am eventually glad that I can stop them.
I still play ACNL daily, and I'm only glad that there, villagers actually announce on which date they're moving, and that they don't just randomly pack up and/or leave like in earlier installments, I especially found this annoying on the GameCube!

Last fall I went through a week of not playing and upon my return, Rizzo's house was gone. Since then, I try to mail letters and talk to my favorites regularly so they still alert me when they plan on moving. Though recently one villager I wasn't fond of (a pig whose name I can't remember) moved out without me even realizing. Wasn't too torn up about it.

Yeah, long time ago I lost Butch when I wasn't playing (I was on a break from the game for some reason). He moved away without saying anything and I was sad about that so I reseted the town. Now I try to enter the game more often, at least to check if anyone's planning to move out.

Wolfgang randomly moved out of my town a while back so I used an amiibo to bring him back and he moved right into the middle of my orchard and now he refuses to move out, super frustrating. So glad they fixed this in NH

In my first New Leaf town, Carmen suddenly moved out. I almost cried. And I thought we were really good friends, too! She dropped by my house randomly the day before she moved.
