Does anyone else get aggravated while terraforming?

Honestly I dread every time I need to do some landscaping because of how often I do the wrong action and have to fix my mistake. Like, half the time is spend fixing mistakes. Not to mention the forced perspective just gets in the way more often than not. But what I downright despise is making rounded cliffs along a river. It could have been made really easy, but as it stands you can't do it without some time-consuming waterscaping.

Today I removed 2 blocks off the rounded cliff I just made only to decide a second later that I wanted them back. I reset but it had already saved and so I spent agesss building blocks along the water trying to make the cliff flush along the river again!

Stuff like this is the reason I avoid extensive terraforming as much as possible since I don't want to be stressed playing AC and feel like I'm just wasting time repeatedly undoing the wrong actions. lf Nintendo doesn't want to work on making it more streamlined I think at least an undo button would go a long way.

Anyway this was more of a vent after an annoying AC session but I can't be the only one who feels the same. And I doubt anyone from Nintendo reads these but PLEASE at least put in an undo button!!!!

I hate terraforming because it's so touchy and so so easy to do the wrong thing that requires you to spend a lot of time manually undoing it. I rarely terraform now if I can avoid it and have chosen to not add anymore cliffs than I already have. Honestly I think the worst one of all is the water tool. It's so easy to hit in the wrong place, especially if you're trying to make a river or something in a specific space. In July I burned out from terraforming and haven't made any big changes since. It just isn't worth the stress at this point!

I do like the idea of an undo button. I mean they even provide something like that when doing custom designs, so why not terraforming?

Personally I hate how tedious and time consuming terraforming is, as it is without the mistakes counted in. One block at a time....and then those half blocks... maybe I am just spoiled by other building games.

Actually what I am glad about is that the tools don't break at least.

Which begs the question why these ones never do yet even our golden ones break all the time..... >_>

If I was already having a bad day to begin with, yes, terraforming is just another annoyance to add to the mix.

Otherwise, I quite enjoy the process of terraforming while playing YouTube videos, Twitch VODs, or a podcast episode in the background.
I know what you mean, I actually do find it relaxing sometimes. But then after too many setbacks it starts to get to me and I have to stop lol. Maybe next time I'll try watching something in the background to make it more bearable.

That's a good point. I haven't yet completely flattened my island and started terraforming from scratch. I prefer doing it in sections (requires some planning but I think it's worth the time to save on construction and moving costs) -- taking breaks between terraforming sessions helps, too. I can see how terraforming the whole island would result in feeling frustrated.

Yes! I sympathize with everyone here. I also hate when you're working and you stop for one second and BAM, mosquito. You get on a roll and then BAM, it's a balloon again. You get going for a third time and BAM, a villager is sitting right where you want to work! /vent

...no...wait.....BAM! Ok, I'm done now.

Yes to ALL of this!

They sit RIGHT on the tile I want to work on, and the balloons are outright stalking us.

I'm sorta okay with it because it's sorta like 3D modeling, but in a horrible baby mode. Which is annoying but I'm familiar with this kind of pain.

I wish there was an undo button. A multiple undo button or at least 3 undos? What makes me the most mad is the multiple balloon gifts that greet me.

Now I play w/o sound when I'm doing serious terraforming.

Yesss the balloons annoy me as well, I wasn't going to mention them because I'm glad they exist but when I'm in deep concentration I get tired of having to stop what I'm doing to go pop them every few minutes. You never know if you'll get something trash or a gold nugget 😭

Terraforming is annoying, especially if you need to clean up a whole area first or if you decide to replace a whole path with another pattern. Also I'm trying to resist the itch to move the whole left side of my island two to three tiles forward, because it's going to be annoying af. I never saw the appeal of hacked towns and the 3DS safe editor but for terraforming it would be awesome.

edit: typo

This happens to me all time its annoys me so much cause I am such a perfectionist. For example I have been laying down a new path for almost a month and I do not like it at all now. So I am going to have to replace it :(

They gave players the freedom but I guess the way they designed it you are "supposed" to either not change much or change it bit by bit each day. That would minimize any frustrations. I'm not a fan of it either. Is anyone really that patient all the time every day?

I get frustrated when an angle doesn't look right to me (I can't explain it any better than that, sorry), but otherwise terraforming isn't much of an issue for me. The only real problem I have with it is how long it can take to do one project, adding or removing a single block at a time...
