Does ACNL influence ACWW on the 3DS?

This just might be a bizarre coincidence, but Kody moved out of my ACNL town (into the void) today. When I booted ACWW after, Kody was the newest villager to move in...

Maybe I'm just being haunted by this bear. o-o

Such thing also happened with me but then not on new leaf but on city folk/ lets go to the city with the villager bree the mouse

I can't imagine that ACNL would have any influence on a game that is a lot older and almost made obsolete by ACNL. It is probably just a coincidence.

that is pretty strange but i have acww on a R4 card so it doesn't work on my 3ds there are only about 150 villagers in acww and they can be found here: https://nookipedia.com/wiki/List_of_villagers_in_Animal_Crossing:_Wild_World

This has happened to me in numerous occiasions in Population Growing, City Folk, and New Leaf. It's just purely coincidental and lucky and doesn't tie into previous installments of the series.
