Mine technically is everywhere, but it's not at the same time. They all are connected to each other and loop so that you can reach the main buildings. I kinda hate when my paths go to a dead end so that's kinda why. Paths that only reach a villager's house/building and stops doesn't really appeal to me.
My paths are mainly situated in areas that are visited most often and they touch or are close to areas like my cherry orchards or villager houses so that you can reach it but not directly go to it with a path, it's just plain grass, or snow in this case since it's winter, so you just explore without a guide in a way lol
The only reason I even place paths is because of the grass wear. If the grass wear wasn't so bad, I would definitely have gone for a natural town.
