I never played Mario Paint on the SNES, but I really hope that it will be released on the virtual console for the Wii U. Thoughts on Mario Paint on the Virtual Console.

Mario Paint is obviously far outdated by today's standards, so a VC release of it would be unlikely. The least I could expect from Nintendo is to ensure that its sequel is much more robust than the SNES version.

Maybe Mario Maker will have similar elements to Mario Paint. I would at least expect the 'music generator' part to work well with Mario Maker.

Doesn't the Mario Paint computer program or whatever have far more options or am I misremembering?
It's the composer part of Mario Paint that allowed for more options on PC, not the drawing part of Mario Paint.

Mario Paint brought back memories, but..yeah..they're better drawing apps on the Wii U.

That's the only part I was talking about, and the only part people seem to remember or take note of most the time it seems.

So...Sort of then. I'm really not keeping up with Mario Maker since I'm not that bothered about it.

I would have expected more than "compose barking dogs" though. I mean, what even is that?
