Yeah. I'm just not very good at playing every day so I have to so I don't miss anything. And I get impatient with moving out/in villagers!

I time travel pretty much every time I play. I pretty much do it to keep it on the same day, I'm trying to get a bunch of PWP requested so I'll keep it on the same day till I get a request on that day, then TT to the next day. I've pretty much time traveled every since I got the game. I also time travel if I'm ordering stuff from the emporium to get the items faster.

In my second town Marzipan, I'll TT to get pwps put up and taken down faster. A couple of times I moved a villager into boxes or started plotting a villager ahead of their move time. Once I'm done, I just TT back to the current date to keep my usual day-to-day flow.

i TT if I missed an event, if the shops closed before I could get to them, to keep villagers from moving out if I haven't played in a few days, etc. I try not to TT excessively just because I did that in my old game, and a lot of things either went wrong or got boring for me.

but I definitely couldn't not TT, as I'm always using it to plot reset and all the other stuff I listed before. I just try not to get too reliant on it. c:

Yup! I don't TT a ton, but I still do it pretty often.
Sometimes if I'm bored, I'll TT to cycle ugly villagers since I've lost all my dreamies. When shops are closed, or I've missed an event, or maybe if I want to redo an event, I'll TT. And instead of buying hybrids on here, I'll keep a few of each in safe storage (so they don't despawn/get smashed) and when I want more to landscape with, I'll TT to breed them quickly. Sometimes I just randomly TT because I'm bored too.
But unless I'm purposely cycling villagers, I'll never TT more than a day or a few hours at a time, so they don't come and go and smash stuff or tear up the landscape.

I TT because running all the errands I need to in ACNL sometimes takes like ten minutes, and sometimes I want to make more progress. I also like the instant feedback from TT-ing forwards one day and seeing what bushes or trees I planted aren't going to grow, for example.

I also TT to get the clock right for what I want to do. I'm in school all day so if I want to do something morning-specific, I can only do it on a weekend or if I TT. If I feel like beetle hunting but it's 3pm, I have no qualms with fixing the clock so I can. If I'm ordering catalog for someone, I'll skip to 4:59pm so I can get the trade done faster.

At one point, I was a full month ahead, but I've kind of relaxed now and I'm trying to play it with minimal time skipping, only using it to catch events and winter-specific stuff. The amount I play during the Fall/Winter/Spring drops dramatically because I'm busy with school, so even though it's been almost three years, there's still lots for me to do, especially events, so it doesn't get boring.

I use to TT when I first had the game. I had no idea what I was doing or that it could actually affect the game (so naive I know). I did it when I was beetle grinding. I would TT specifically to 6 PM in the game and beetle grind until shops closed. If by the end of those hours I still felt like playing, I would TT back to 6 PM and continued to beetle hunt.

However have stopped for quite some time (probably over a year now) and to be honest...one of my games is actually still back in 2015 (GASP). I'm currently in November in that game file and have no plans to TT unless I missed an item I need for one of my rooms- and even then, I don't intend to TT more than a few hours. Otherwise, I just let the game carry on. My second game file however has not been "tainted by TT-ing" and is current time and date wise.

I started over, so I decided to start on January 2015, and TT until I catch up.

I did this because I wanted to reset my map completely, but catching up to where I used to be would take too long otherwise. Once I catch up again (which is still a good while away), I'll stop TTing.

I only TT back a few hours if I start playing at a time that's pretty late and the stores start closing like around 8pm or so. I also only do it when I order stuff off my catalog and get impatient, so I just go back to like 4:59 PM or something haha. But I'll never go past a day. Especially since I have basically all of my dreamies, I'm kind of scared to go past a day, even if it isn't going to do anything haha.

i only ever time travel just a few hours back if i am playing late at night and need the shops and re-tail open.

I time travel occassionaly, (option E), but lately it's been to get rid of a villager I did not want, and to try to find one I did want.
Last night, I time traveled for a while (by two days, then back, wash rinse repeat for 2 hours) to try to get a squirrel, with only my tools and a common white butterfly in my pocket that I'd forgotten about. He is a time traveling butterfly, now, and I will name him Marty.

I'm the Dr. Who of Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

seriously, how can you not time travel? i mean if you make any forum trades where you're the seller, you pretty much will need to make an order at your shop from your catalogue and then time travel forward to pick up the delivery in your mail. most customers dont want to wait a day to make their trade with you!

although when I visited HMCaprica's dreamtown, all her villagers kept telling me that she's a time traveller. so maybe she's the dr. Who of animal Crossing New Leaf!

I use to when I started, so I could get everything done quicker. Now that I have I only do it when I've gone too long without playing (still trying to catch up, I'm on Feb 26th right now). I tried to not do it, for a change, when I first got new leaf and immediately caved. It's just something I can't cut, I'm not very patient. I was even TTing so I could buy a lot of shrubs/starts from my shop to decorate my town with lol.

I hate to time travel tbh...
But I do it to move unwanted villagers out.
I'd rather break the rules a little than to wait a few months to get rid of an unwanted villager,
I'm not patient enough for that :c

In my old town I used to a whole lot then one day I got sloppy and I lost my fav villager so I didn't play acnl for a year after that. But I have since restarted and I'm getting things going again. I only TT when trying to get a unwanted villager to move and even then I will only go two days forward. ^^"

The thing that sets AC apart from most other games is the realtime-aspect of the game. When I first started playing, I found it really odd, even annoying at times. Now, however, I think it's such a unique feature, and time travelling totally breaks the immersion for me. I kind of like that you have to wait a whole year for new years and such, and that you have to wait for your orders from the shop (it's still faster than amazon prime, though...) All I can say is - look at it this way: There's no time travellin' in real life, is there? No, of course not. That'd be crazy.

oh look, another ''do you TT'' thread. anyway, i do TT. mostly because im an impatient person and i dont like waiting something to be done like waiting for just one hybrid to bloom the next day or getting a favorite PWP built.
