I've been keeping track of my reading since the end of 2018, I think. I used Goodreads initially but I use Storygraph now. I always do a yearly reading challenge, and I think keeping track pushes me to read more. My goal for this year is 40 books.

I like tracking because I think it's neat to see data over time on the type of books I'm reading, and see trends on when I'm reading a lot and when I'm not reading at all. I don't really track any other hobbies this way, but reading is one of my main hobbies (and probably my favorite hobby).

If you do track it, what's the most you've read in a year? Do you set a goal for a number of books/pages per year? What do you use to keep track?

Yes. I've been tracking the books I read for the past 20 years. Originally I kept track of books and quotations in a notebook, then I started keeping a digital log via GoodReads back in 2010. The most books I've read in a year was 63 in 2018.

For a few years my reading goal was 52 books a year. However, I go through phases with hobbies and reading isn't one I'm gravitating to much right now, so my goal for 2024 is 12 books.

My reading amount is low. I can usually memorize what I read in a single year.

I watch hundreds of movies and at a quick pace too. That gets two separate logs. (One as backup in case I lose it).

Yes! I like to know exactly when I read something, and since I read a lot it gets mixed up easily if I don't keep track of it. I even started keeping a commonplace book fairly recently.

Yup! I log every book I read on GoodReads once I finish it. Currently I’m aiming for 50 books, but I’m 2 books behind.

been using goodreads for years! last year i read 130 books, so i'm hoping to keep that pace this year. (i've read 55 this year so far.)

I got back into reading last year, and I've been tracking my reading on Goodreads since then. Last year, I logged 17 books. This year, I've logged only 4 books as I'm in a reading slump, so my goal for this year is 8 books. I like tracking my reading because I like seeing my ratings, striving towards a goal, and reading a different genre book after every x number of books in the two genres I primarily dabble in.

made a goodreads again like not too long ago because i plan on getting back into reading again! have tried storygraph in the past, but heavily prefer goodreads.

For a while when I was a kid I would keep track of what I read by writing the book title, author, and date read on index cards, and I stored them in a shoebox. I stopped doing that at some point, and then I didn't bother keeping track of what I read for a long time after that, but last year I started using Goodreads to keep track of what I've read. It's especially helpful with ongoing series because it helps me remember to check for new books in the series and know where I left off

I use Goodreads but I haven't read in years........ I'm stuck on a big book but I don't wanna skip it either. 😭

I don't read books these days, so technically no. Though if I was to actually start reading them again, I'd definitely keep track, since I keep track of basically everything these days. 😅

i kinda unintentionally track my reading through the library app i use (shoutout to libby) but i'd really like to start using goodreads. reading has always been super important to me, but my ever-declining mental health (lol) has made it hard to do consistently for years now, so i think tracking it more seriously would probably help me stay motivated.

I use Goodreads to track my reading. I've been using GoodReads since 2019 and I've gained quite the read pile, and much much more to the to be read pile.

I’ve never kept track of the books I’ve read but that sounds like a great idea.

Now I’m wondering why I didn’t think of it before... Oh yeah, if I start another list that will need to be updated it’s going to get forgotten at some point. Yeah, that's how it works. But I might give it a try.

I keep telling myself that I really should keep track of what and how many books I read . I just never do. I really do love to read. My problem is I focus so much on one thing that I forget everything else exists. I really want to get back into the habit of reading more .

I've never kept track. I read too much. Fiction, non- fiction, mystery, science, fantasy, all kinds of stuff. Around 300/ year total. Some are short, quick reads. Some of the non- fiction takes forever to get through.

Most i read, but i also like listening to something when I'm working outside, so that's counting audiobooks as well.

Yeah I use Goodreads and Storygraph. Not logged on recently though because I once again hit a reading slump 🙈
