One can only hope. Ideally I would love a lot more as I want to have my island to feel more "full" than it is. Though I guess my only problem would be trying to find space to build more housing. But I'd rather at least have the option to add more plots, than be limited to 10.

i want to belive since island hopping became a viral thing on youtube they should upgrade the villiager hunt features with new plots and maybe more ideas but i dont think it will happen as much as i want to myself

I very, very much doubt it. I feel that they would have had to have firmly decided on sticking with the 10 villager cap because, if we are indeed going to be getting more buildings for other businesses, then they would have needed to account for how much space would hypothetically be taken up by the villagers' homes, planned new buildings, and probably as many playable characters as can fit in an island when they were designing the size of the island itself.
I would probably, honestly, recommend just getting another copy of New Leaf for those other two dream villagers, since those cost less than $20 now. That or eventually replace one of your current villagers with whoever doesn't fit currently if you ever get tired of any of them. Or, of course, plan to use them in whatever next installment will come in the Animal Crossing series in however many years, though that would seem the least optimal solution of the three.

I was also thinking this, eight is a ridiculous number (for players) for villagers i'd take it
maybe they should make it so players can either have only 8, 10, or 12/whatever other number plotsI don't want more plots, in fact I could do with fewer (like eight). Who knows that they have in mind though!

But I really hope so, I feel like if they were to include more plots that it be optional, so 10 is the ideal number but we can have an extra 1 or 2 if we so choose. Heck I'd be happy with 15 because I have so many villagers I'd love to have. I really am tempted to buy a second copy of the game for a second island of dreamies but also money at the same time... xD

It think I'm in the minority, but I don't need more villagers. I actually wish I could reduce the number of plots on my island back down to eight. I'd be happy with one villager of each personality type.
What I would really like is more opportunity for multiplayer online play, more reasons for us to get together online, and more activities we could do that would help each other out.
My wish list: Tortimer's island tours (multiplayer online minigames), more daily items to buy in Nooks Cranny (instanced, so visitors could buy them too), multiplayer trips to mystery islands, in-game player stores (like in CF, NL, and PC), non-breaking (magical or platinum) tools, and especially the return of Dreamtowns.
P.S. it would be neat if some mystery islands were actually built up and had unique stores on them, with random villagers so you could see their houses. Just don't chop down their trees!

While I think I would enjoy more plots. With my current island layout, I'm not sure if I could find more space. I'd have to redo certain areas of my island. Which is not fun..
