Do you think there's still potential that Nintendo will increase the villager cap?

I'd personally love this, but when the update came out, I was reading a lot of complaints from people over the fact they released more buildings and how people would have to completely reorganize their perfect towns that were already 100% finished in order to somehow make room. (I kind of felt bad for those people who finished the game within the first month). So if Nintendo did this, I would expect a lot of complaints from those people again. But me? I would be delighted to be able to bring more animal friends into my island
To be fair to those people, it's not that difficult to "finish" it in about a month, it takes what, 12 to 14 days to get teraforming tools? The extra two weeks on top is more than enough time to theme out an island and call it "done." Depends on the kind of player you are, I suppose!
I don't think it'd spur much complaining. We get to decide whether to put down plots or not - there's nothing really to complain about (unless by not placing all plots we're penalised in some way) - just don't plot land out for new residents and allow people to remove plots when someone moves out, and everyone is happy
I, personally, didn't go crazy with the terraforming/decorating because I knew there would be updates.
I find it a bit odd that some people were completely done decorating their island within a month of playtime - I, personally, want to enjoy this game for at least a few years just as I did with NL, but I guess that's just my personal way of playing.
And for all those saying increasing the villager number would be too much to handle, I think we should be given the option.
Like you could choose if you want to have 10 or 12 or 14. I suppose people play the game for different reasons but for me the villagers are one of the most important aspects and there are many more that I'd love to have.
I'm not interested in creating extra players to make houses UNLESS we could build actual restaurants/schools, etc. as we could in Happy Home Designer.

I feel like 12 would be a perfect amount for me personally, especially since I don't actually share my island with anyone else. It would be nice if it was an optional choice, so those who don't have room don't feel obligated to have the extra two plots.

I was team 12 for a while but then I realized that we only have 8 personalities so 4 villagers minimum will have to have double personalities.. meaning the dialogue will get repetitive much faster.
As much as I'd like to have more of the villagers I love, without more personalities it might not work out the best so I understand why they didn't increase the cap. The whole new sub-type thing is probably what they're doing to make up for it.

Maybe it would be nice then to have 18 "spaces". They can be villagers or human players. If you want to add another human player at some point down the line, you can kick someone out like Amiibo does.

I would love 5 more spots. There are too many villagers to love. I don't have the option of a second Switch.

I'd personally prefer more personality types over more villagers per island. 10 is a perfect amount imo, and while it would be nice to have an extra villager or two, I'd rather have more diverse characters than just the same 8 personalities.

If that's the case I should have the option to delete plots once villagers move out, similar to how players can just delete their files and get rid of their houses.
