Do you think the world will end in 2012.

What about the Sun shooting a giant flare at Earth or tempatures rising so hot then that we all fry, or all plants die, etc.

Also the Yellow Stone erupting would not affect ALL of the USA. The ash and soot that come from it will affect a portion of the world. The gas cloud would not kill EVERYTHING just a very large amount of plants and animals
Way to bump an old thread.

As for that supervolcano at Yellowstone, the amount of ash it would put out would affect the whole world. The Krakatoa eruption in 1883 for example, precipitated a global decline in average temperatures and chaotic weather for years. The Yellowstone volcano is far, far larger than that one.
Sorry, I keep getting May and March confused and I don't know why. Also I didn't want to create a new topic on this when there are already a few

I read that the global temperature decrease was very little during that explosion. Lets say that there was a global temperature decrease of 20 degrees Fahrenheit. People will still be able to survive
It was 1.2 degrees Celsius. But 20 degrees Fahrenheit? That would be catastrophic, it would completely throw the weather to *censored.2.0*.

No. That's just stupid. It was supposed to end in 1990 and 2000 and 2009. And hey! We're still here. People say it'll end in a flood, but I don't see how that's possible since some countries have water shortages. <_<

(un)

I'm saying that the Yellowstone supervolcano would be catastrophic like scientists say it would be.

Also, in the Bible it says after God made the flood for Noah's Ark, he promised not to wipe out the human race again. I believe that's true, so I'm not scared at all. But some people may not believe that so, yeah........

Well, fortunately the people in control of the world won't rely on that if we're faced with catastrophic climate change or some sort of asteroid event.

Maybe some won't, maybe some will. But I will, for sure.
Enjoy your fiery death, O pious one.

Edit - Your signature stretches the thread frame, you should do something about that.

Who is, O dead one? (a.k.a. Minos) I don't think your spy gear can help you this time.
If you're referencing my gloves, I'm flattered.

Well he said he wouldn't.

Hopefully not.

There's too many theories about the world ending going around.

But I do believe some sort of solar activity will occur then.

No, he promised not to flood the earth again. So, what do we have left?

The world could burn, collapse, or maybe a plague?

I have 587 rules that will help me survive pretty much any apocalyptic scenario. I've got it covered from giant comet strike, to zombie swarm, to mutated baby platypuses. It is also why I always have a towel. ALWAYS!

lol

I'm on and off on choices.

Why?

Yellowstone.
____________________________________________________________________________

You may know Yellowstone to be a very beautiful place with extraordinary scenery and breathtaking water plumes, but underneath that is a super volcano. Super volcanoes are 3 to 4 times more powerful than a normal volcano, and many are hidden in places you would not think of, such as the ocean floor. This particular volcano goes off about every 645,000 years. Well, it has a high possibility that Yellowstone could blow up, (Hence Yellowstone blowing up in the movie 2012.) which would destroy a good chunk, if not all of the United States. The ash from this explosion would for sure wipe out the rest of the country, (Washington D.C. scene in 2012) being up to several feet high. The ash would eventually spread and cover the world, and... well you get the idea. The reaction from a super volcano going off could also trigger others to go off as well.

...I feel like watching 2012 now.

There is also solar flares to boot. (If we still make it past both of these, the sun is going to blow up in about 5 million years. It's true. It's what happens to all stars.)
