well i have been thinkering that the signs that tell you that an animal will move in the far futur will be a awesome pwp. almost like like in GB,WW and CF. so that you can avoid tree cuting and plant ruining.i realy hope that the next ac game (probly on wii u) will have those "signs".

Or perhaps this way could work:

Tom Nook greets you on the starting screen like Isabelle does and tells you that a villager is moving in, and that he wants you to pick out a spot for them much like what you did with your house. You could either agree to manually pick out a spot or let the villager choose. If you chose to manually pick a spot, he will wait for you outside your house so you can take him around to pick a spot for the villagers house.

But I can see that your signs could help more when planning out your town!

I really like this idea! I think it would be great considering you're the Mayor, you should be able to give new residents a small little tour as you guide them to their house.

Unfortunately, our towns are democracies! ;)

This. I'd love it if this was the case. Everyday I live in fear of my paths getting blocked by an ugly villager.

I absolutely adore this idea. It makes complete since, and it's a simple fix. Just think how much cleaner paths would look, and how much more space you could have for PWP's! Omg they need to implement this. ._.

Yeah, I always thought that this was to emulate the annoyance the general public can cause to the government... like that man in China who refused to move from his house when it was in the way of a highway being built, they ended up building the road around him and his house just sits there, in the middle of a busy highway!

And can I apologise to natsu34, I didn't mean to show you up like this and i'm feeling a bit bad...
