Voted for "not very much." I like to make jokes, references, and noise when I'm alone, but I wouldn't necessarily label that as talking to myself. Having full-on conversations with myself is something I don't really do.
yeah my brain is like a junk drawer and i often have really fast thoughts so thinking out loud helps me focus on what im doing haha i dont narrate everything just sometimes it helps me process my thoughts. other times i might just make small comments/jokes and i just end up speaking out loud/mumbling
Yeah, I definitely do whenever I'm by myself. It does make it easier to think things through at times, especially depending on my emotional state at that moment. My favorite time to talk to myself is whenever I'm out driving by myself. Though I never do it whenever there's somebody nearby or out in public due to the fear of somebody being nearby (even if I can't see anybody at that moment) and overhearing me.
i talk to myself all the time, but only when i’m alone or far enough away from other people that they can’t hear me. i talk to myself to try and process events that have just happened, work through tasks that i have to do and motivate myself to actually do them, say things that i can’t say to other people, etc. i honestly think i talk to myself more than i do other people.
Not too much anymore. But I will sometimes sing/say random phrases by myself. I tend to hyperfocus on some phrases and will say them for that quick serotonin boost when I'm at home by myself lol
But I do act things out with my hands/face sometimes even in public accidentally
Not intentionally. Sometimes when I’m thinking about a past conversation or I’m daydreaming, I’ll accidentally start whispering some of the words and making weird faces.
never when i'm alone in my free time, but all the time at work. i work in a high stress environment and i find it helps keep me focused and i need to talk a lot anyway with other people so i end up talking to myself too. sometimes i'm half talking to someone else, half talking to myself.
Nah, not really. I mean, I do mutter words under my breath when I'm angry, but that doesn't count. XD I don't do commentaries when I play games, but it sounds fun! Whenever there's any text/dialogue in a video game though, I tend to read it out loud. And if my family questions it, I just say that I'm practicing my (very poor) public speaking skills. Whatever is in my mind, I usually just write it down.
I talk to my cat sometimes. She only really understands her name and various words for food, but for some reason talking to a cat feels less weird than just talking to myself.
yes. i thought i talked to myself a lot but learned that my boyfriend talks to himself a LOT more than i do.
its just fun to talk to yourself and its an easy way to keep tab on things imo.
I feel like I have a constant stream of internal dialogue from the minute I wake up until I go to sleep. I rarely talk out loud to myself, however I used to when I was younger.
Way too much for my liking, honestly. I catch myself talking to myself at work in front of coworkers while I'm refilling bags on the bagging carousel, or when I'm stocking product from the truck, and I get frustrated, I'm talking and ranting to myself about it... It can be a blessing and a curse T^T
It makes me stupidly insecure whenever someone points it out or asks me about it, the times that this happened is way too often :"D
I do it all the time when I'm alone. I love doing fake interviews or giving my opinion to myself about upcoming things I'm excited about or things I just saw. It really helps me especially when I have no one else to talk to about certain things I'm interested in!
It's actually nice to know other people do this a lot too. I mainly do it as a coping mechanism when I'm stressed about something and have no one else to really talk to. It's nice to just get the words out in the open and out of my system.
