Do you talk to your pets?

I think everyone talks to their pets in some capacity. We are social people and that's how we communicate. I never have full on conversations with them, but I always talk to them as if they were little kids

My one cat gets so excited when I get home from work. When I talk to her she almost can't get up cause she's moving her legs too fast lol.

I talk to my puppy Aurora all the time. She likes to talk back or just tilt her head so I know she’s listening. She is very good at letting me know what she needs. It’s nice having her to talk to.

Of course I talk to my pets! I also talk to the neighbors' pets. I give them all names, too. I talk to wild animals, bugs, plants, pretty much everything.

Today when I got home, one of the neighbor dogs was waiting. So i had to say 'well hello, puppers, and how are you this beautiful day'
No joke. Then i gave him pets and a treat. Had to apologize to my cat Mr Peaches because i pet puppers first. Had to apologize to a beetle later on as I put it outside.

I'm going to be the crazy person in the neighborhood, lol.

How could I not talk to my adorable, furry little friends?? They love me and I love them, and I love talking to them especially when we're cuddling.

Yes.
Usually it is a greeting, or a question/small conversation about something they have interest in, or a little silly jingle. They definitely respond positively. Sometimes they let me know stuff like using body language to tell me they want outside, a blanket, or something about where their toy is. Sometimes they will insist on a treat instead of another if it's been a little while since they had that particular one. I have one dog that will be grumpy if he isn't greeted first thing in the morning and you instead tell him to go outside right away.
And yes, I also talk to my fish even though they aren't as expressive or have as many cares/preferences.
When I had house plants I also greeted them. May seem silly but they are living things that need some sort of care too. I'm sure they like my breath anyway lol.

As a kid, I used to tell him secrets! (the secret was that tennis was my favorite sport and tennessee was my favorite state because it sounded like tennis. He was born in Tennessee, so I told him how cool I thought that was). Lol

Definitely! I always talk to Blossom everyday. It warms my heart to see her come running through to me if I call 'Blossom!' or the way she follows me even to the bathroom! One of the names I call her is my 'Baby Basset' and tell her even when she's an old lady, she will still be my Baby Basset! I always tell her how much I love her and how I hope she knows how much she's loved. I also like to reassure her in the unlikely event of any accidents or when she unwell a few weeks ago that she has nothing to worry about, accidents can be cleaned up as long as she's ok that's the main thing. I just love my girl so much!

I love the fact that everyone has there own way of talking, or communicating with their pets. I can see that you all truly love your furry family members. Especially because you take the overall cuteness to the next level!

Keep on chatting with your pets! Even the fish! (They can hear, and have feelings/personalities. I 100% believe that!)

when i was younger i used to talk to my dog when things would get rough. didn't really trust anyone enough to confide in, besides my dog. while i know he wasn't going to reply with helpful advice, but being able to get that out of my system was enough for me.

I do! I tell them hi, ask how they're doing, tell them I love them, ask if they're hungry... I can't imagine myself not talking to pets! Some of my family members think I'm weird lol

Of course, I talk to my animals! I don't always talk to them in the same way, though. They respond to different tones and words in different ways, so I end up tailoring the way I speak to get the best response from them. It really helps me create a special bond with each individual animal.

As for what I say, the basics usually include greetings, informing them of what I'm doing, asking what they want to do (I get my answers based on their body language), reassuring them if they are scared or hurt, and telling them how much I love them over and over again.
I also sometimes use them as a sounding board for working through ideas or for venting frustrations. They are great listeners.

But I don't just talk to my pets. I talk to every animal I meet. If I pass a spider, I say "Hi" to it. If I accidentally scare a rabbit in the yard, I say "I'm sorry." I speak to the worms and caterpillars I pick up and move out of the road to tell them I'm not going to hurt them. Even if they can't understand my words, I always hope that my tone conveys my feelings.

I talk to them constantly. My dog Fred always looks at me intently when I talk to him, and my cat meows almost every time I say something to her. It almost makes me feel like she's responding to me.

I talk to them, but not as much as I'd like to. I am someone who is used to keeping quiet, which is the opposite of birbs, who enjoy chatter. I've been trying to get into the habit of narrating what I do to them so that they feel more "included", but it is not something that comes naturally to me.

I talk to my cat all the time. Mostly in the "baby" voice with the occasional meow lol. She is fairly vocal so we have a few conversations with each other

Unfortunately pets are not allowed where I live but whenever I see a cat outside I will talk to it.. I will also talk to the geckos that tend to trespass the bathroom and the hallway

If I had trespassing geckos, I would talk to them too! I am a little jealous! I only get trespassing spiders

Yes, I talk to my kitty all the time. Usually when I give her her wet food or when I'm loving on her. I'll say random things like, "Are you a good kitty?" Or when I'm playing with her with her feather toy I'll be like, "Get it! Get the feather!" There's other instances outside of those as well though.

for sure, i always talk to my husky zeus, whether it be in a cutesy very loving and affectionate tone like he's a baby or small child, or simply chatting or full blown conversations as if he's a person. he doesn't really have one solid reaction to it other than opening his mouth in a smiling state, staring at me because he's so used to it, or side-eyeing me like "is this girl serious right now?". ill get the occasional head tilt or sometimes he'll lay down and put his paws on me. im obsessed with him, i love him so so much and im sure he knows it. he definitely knows us and our voices, and when we say things like "where's mama? go to mama" he'll look right at my mom and waddle over to her. all my family members talk to him

She likes to talk all the time she is a very vocal kitty so we have conversations with each other back and forth.

I have a very curious kitty that always has to be next to me when I do anything. So I usually explain to her what I am doing and show her haha

I always tell her I love her and to have a good day when I leave the house
