Do you still use ladder and vaulting pole?

My upper cliffs aren't accessible without a ladder, so I still use that.

But I don't use the vaulting pole very often at all.
I'm almost in the same situation as you, but I have one staircase leading to the upper cliffs. The thing is, it's located on the leftmost portion of the map, which means I still have to use the ladder when I need access the upper cliffs on the right side of the map.

Because of this, I still need to build at least another staircase. I also need to build another bridge - to access the same rightmost part of the map on the north section.

But as soon as I finish building everything, I won't need the ladder and the vaulting pole. I think they were designed to be used only in the early game to tackle obstacles before the player gains access to the terraforming tools and bridge/staircase construction. And this is also a good explanation for them to be the only unbreakable tools.

Lol sometimes I'm so lazy I'll use my vaulting pole literally a few feet away from a bridge.

I still have cliffs that don't have ramps so the ladder is necessary.

Interesting to think about, but you can technically reach any point on the map with just the ladder (assuming you haven't terraformed too much).

I'm trying to set up my town in a manner where it's not necessary to use them, and also so there are enough of them placed where it's not inconvenient enough that people still prefer to use their tools either.

Not on my own island. I have put in bridges and inclines everywhere I needed them and on several parts of my river I terraformed to make them narrower so I can jump in places where I couldn't put a bridge.
I do use them on Nook Mile islands though and in some of my friends islands that don't have easy access bridges and inclines.

I don't even carry my ladder or vaulting pole with me on my island. I only bring them with me when I go to a NMT island or someone else's island just in case they don't have many bridges or inclines!

i still use the ladder sometimes, not the pole (which was my preferred out of the two). you can definitely get around my island sans using either, but i still keep them in my inventory for some reason LOL i should probably put 'em away, but i'm concerned that i'll forget them prior to mystery island visits.

i also like having the ladder around in case i decide to spontaneously terraform smth.

ugh I never thought I'd see the day when I'd have to CRAFT a tool using my own materials instead of buying it from nook's cranny again but it turns out I need a pole vault to get to redd and timmy and tommy don't let you buy them outright. my island has no water in it atm and I completely forgot about the existence of pole vaults lmao

Using the ladder is still convenient for me as I only have one inc.line leading up to my second level. Saves a lot of time!

Rarely use the vaulting pole now unless I'm on a time crunch (i.e.: 10 minutes before I have to leave for work). I have a lot of sections in my river where I use 'stepping/jumping stones.' Faster to vault over the entire river than to hop across.

I don't use the vaulting pole unless I'm off-island. I do have one spot where I need a ladder. It's where I put hybrids, and I don't want villagers messing with them.

When I first witnessed the vaulting pole, I vowed to use it even when I have bridges. The ladder, not so much.

i have the ladder because theres no incline on my cliff ontop of my cliff. i never plan on putting one but sometimes holes spawn so yeah

I carry the pole vault around, as well as the ladder. Though, I only tend to use the pole vault and only really use the ladder when I'm being incredibly lazy.

I still have to use the ladder to get to Redd because Nook won’t let me build any more inclines, stupid eight limit cap.
