No, I haven't touched my rocks probably since the first month of release!! Hate carrying tools usually, unless its a wand or slingshot (If I'm hunting DIYs while TT'ing)
i do! just trynna get some gold nuggets and i use a flimsy axe (honestly just trying to get rid of them all since i bought a stockpile of them for when i was trying to get the golden axe diy lol)
I still hit my rocks every day but I don't have all 6 on my island at the moment. There's only 5 permanent rocks so I search for the 6th every day and usually end up breaking it because I don't like where it spawns. The rocks are also in random natural areas and sometimes in weird spots so I can't really get all 8 hits in. I always hit with a shovel. I hate the sound of the axe hitting it LOL.
I haven't been but I think I'm gonna have to start some mega crafting soon soo should probably start grinding some materials. luckily all my rocks are in the same place now so it makes my life easier
Yes, but with some hesitance. My main character's storage is full and her basement is full of DIYs I need to sell or trade, so there's nowhere for me to put the clay, iron, and stone that the rocks produce. I still hit them because it would be a shame to pass up the 16,000 or so bells you can get from the daily money rock. Due to the storage issue, I'll just either sell the materials I find or craft them into things to sell if I have enough for any of my learned DIYs. Because of this, I likewise tend to avoid harvesting my island's trees for their various woods.
Once I make some of the additional player characters I intend to make (I'm terrible at deciding names, and then I feel like I need to figure out a good birthday for them too since the game wants you to pick one), I'll get back to smacking all of my rocks and chopping my trees in a carefree manner.
I hadn't been, but when I went to make a gold slingshot recently I realized I was out. So, now I'm trying to remember to do it everyday
And I use a shovel, 'cause I'm old school. I also usually do it when I'm hunting fossils, so it works well.
And, since I have the golden axe recipe, I have no need to keep trying to break them
I hit them every day, until I find the money rock. So usually not all 6. The bells you get are usually my "pocket money" for buying little Nook items and clothes.
I typically save the gold nuggets and sell any other materials, unless I've recently run low on something. I'm keeping the stone for now. It's an easy, not-grindy way to stock up on materials until you have a few stacks or a really big need for something.
When I'm playing the game, yes I do hit the rocks everyday. I have quite a few materials but if I have extra then I can sell them for bells (the iron nuggets especially give a lot of bells, I always like to have some extra money in my pocket).
As for the tool, I didn't even know you could hit a rock with an axe and get materials out of it lol. I might have to try that sometime
