Do you still craft tools?

Yep! Crafting takes far too long compared to just buying them. I don't think I've crafted a tool since April.

No, i much prefer the designer ones that the nookligans sell in store. The only thing i still craft is the fishing rod.

I don't craft them.

It costs me around $30k a day in customization kits as I keep 100 on me and just use those on the tools.

Tis ridiculous.

Just give us golden tools that don't break, like you did in previous AC games like Wild World, fifteen years ago.

Yeah, fifteen years later, and we're back in the stone age, but with a moronic mobile phone. O_o

Anyone else see what's wrong with this picture?

I've been crafting a lot of shovels lately because I've been redoing my island and my shovels like to break after the shop closes so I just end up crafting a bunch. Moving all my flowers has really been breaking a lot of shovels.
Sometimes if I don't have a fishing rod with me when I see a big fish I'll run to craft a fishing rod real quick so I can catch it without having to go inside to buy or get a fishing rod from storage.

I craft the net and rod, but not the axe or slingshot. I have tons of branches and there's not much to do with them, but I don't really enjoy farming wood - there are so many other things I'd rather do with that time

I almost never craft tools, I would hate to use my materials for something I can easily buy at the shop.

I used to craft all my tools since I had an abundance of materials (I go on daily mystery island tours to collect materials) until I started to craft fences and furniture DIY. Since I started running a little low, I started buying tools. Idk why I never did in the first place. Going in and out of my house to get iron and wood to craft and then put them back in storage was pretty tiring. lol

I'll never be caught using anything other than the star net and elephant watering can again!

But really, I can't be bothered to grind for mats when they're pretty cheap and way cuter. I also nab the tools Wilbur sells you if they break while I'm piddling around on a mystery island, because I desperately need to offload some miles. I was shocked when I checked (after like 3 months of playing) and they were only 100 miles.

I craft flimsy tools because I can't be bothered to go to Nook's Cranny. When I fish I take three or four fishing rods to make sure I have enough of them. It's a bit tedious to have to shake a tree for materials but I've gotten used to it.

Whenever I play City Folk again it's going to feel so refreshing to be able to keep tools forever.

Yeah I buy the pretty tools, I cannot live without my elephant watering can lmao. All other water cans are demon spawn to me now. To me it’s less about the materials and more about the aesthetics and the amount of time it takes me to craft new tools (I have to go home and take each of the materials out of storage bc we still can’t craft from storage...).

I haven’t had a tool break in weeks bc I always customize them when they start to wear. I might get back to crafting when I go on a spree to complete all the nook miles achievements but I’m in no hurry.

Nahhh too lazy for that lol, if only they could let us craft with the materials from our storage without having to go and get it and put it on our pockets, maybe I will...

I honestly don’t craft them anymore. If I really need one and Nook’s is closed then I will, but it’s just more convenient to buy instead of crafting them.

I usually craft all tools except the watering can, since it seems to break on a very irregular schedule and I don’t like wasting iron on them. Plus, the elephant watering can is so much cuter 🥰 For other tools, I try to customize them before they break so they can last longer, since customization kits are cheaper than buying new tools.

I really think they saw what Zelda BotW did and went with that. Weapons that break (even the Master Sword) but gave Link a tablet.

I need to start buying tools since I’m always low on materials. What else am I gonna spend my bells on?

Nook miles keeps me crafting, tho I will often customize so at least they last a bit longer.

I do unless I'm out of materials or feeling particularly lazy because I'd like to get the Nook miles achievements. After I get those, I'll probably buy tools a lot more.

I try to customize a tool before it breaks, but if I didn't pay attention than yes I just buy the upgraded version from the Nooks.
