No. I have blackout curtains. Though I can still see the lights from my alarm clock and other stuff, even with my eyes completly closed.

I grew up in an east facing room so have always woken with the sun. And then somewhere starting in high school I just developed awful sleep habits and would fall asleep with the light on, usually because I would fall asleep reading some novel. Then college didn’t help with my sleep cycle (everyone was up in the dorms until 2-3 am, after midnight was when all the activities and studying seemed to happen! So I would stay up to socialize and get work done, but then also my body wanted to wake up at 7am!) and then I became a medical student and a resident who would do random night shifts or be on call.
Also I’m blind without my glasses on so the idea of being in total darkness (where I can’t find my glasses!) is a bit scary haha. Because of that I often fall asleep with my glasses on, although I’m trying to be better about that.

My boyfriend of the last few years needs to have the room really dark to get good sleep however. He’s got blackout curtains that are really taped down along all the edges too to COMPLETELY block everything out. Also if we forget to close the bathroom door which is the room next to his room, light will stream in through the bathroom door through the cracks around his bedroom door in the morning. So he makes sure all those light sources are blocked before bed!

I have noticed I sleep better when I’m at his place! (This is also probably helped by not getting regularly called by work in the middle of the night every 3rd night anymore!)

I did buy him an eye mask to use when he’s at my place or traveling, and he really likes it:)

I’m thinking I should just get blackout curtains though; we’re trying for a baby and I heard it’s good for daytime naps and I don’t think I’ll be wrestling with an eye mask for an infant;) (although if something like this exists and is effective and I don’t know about it, please let me know!)

I've always been curious about those eye masks. I feel like you would have to be a peaceful sleeper. I toss and turn and would probably end up strangling myself with it, or half eating the mask 😆

I guess it doesn't matter for me though, I could literally sleep anywhere, no matter the light, noise, or anything else.

My vision isnt that bad, but I do have to wear glasses all the time, and I understand the struggle of falling asleep with them on! They are so a part of my face that I forget that I am wearing them... and I have woken up a couple of times to glasses bent beyond repair!
