Do you redecorate your house from time to time? Or is it always the same?

My house's living room has been pretty much the same for months. And that's because I like it the way it is, and I'm scared that if I try to change the decoration and the layout, I might not like it and than it will be really hard getting everything like it was before. But I was thinking on redesigning my living room this winter, with all of the new winter furniture.

So, do you also redecorate you house from time to time, or do you stick with one layout the whole year? This is my first animal crossing game, so I'd like to know if this is a thing people do.

Thanks! :)

Absolutely. When I started playing NH I knew exactly how I wanted it to look. So far I've achieved it, so I only switch up little decorations from time to time. I'm almost to a fully expanded house and I don't foresee myself changing my mind! 😄

I did redecorate my house a few times. However, it was never complete to begin with. When I found out the pirate series wasn't in New Horizons, I wasn't sure which direction I was going to go with my house. I saw a lot of people having a main room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and arcade. They all looked nice, but this game lacks in the furniture department. When the pirate series became available, that's when I started to create my house. It's still a work in progress, but when I feel like I've completed it, I'll share all my rooms and tell the story behind them.

i just did a mass redecoration of my house for the first time since it was "completed." i had the same worry mentioned above about redecorating and then not liking it as much as before, but happily i am way, way more satisfied with how it turned out now than i was previously, and it fits my island's whole theme a lot better than my old house did.

i do kind of miss having a space room, but i can always go to harv's and re-create it there if i feel like it, so it's not the biggest deal.

I have two houses in my island, the two of then have rooms with event items.
The first house have a turkey room and a birthday room.
And the second house have a celeste room, halloween room, fall room, mermaid room, cherry blossom room and snow room.
Just turkey, mermaid, halloween and birthday rooms are complete. I need get more items to decorate.
I change the rooms a lot, but when i see i put everything in the same place lol

Mine's pretty much stayed the same after changing it around once. I'm so bad at interior decorating or just decorating in general, and that goes for real life too, so I'm like you and too scared to change it incase I screw it up lol

I just redecorated my basement from a summer “pool room” to a winter den.

I've been playing since launch and I've barely even touched my house to decorate it 😅 but I presume when I do decorate my house eventually, I *will* be redecorating it every now and again!

lol this is me. I have three rooms that actually have stuff in them. The basement, upstairs, and right side have nothing. I tried to do a kitchen, but I didn't like any of the kitchen furniture and so I put that on the back-burner.

I have just been adding things in each room when I get something I like but I have never actually rearranged anything so now it is super cluttered. So now that I’m trying to get the minimum amount of points I need to get a gold trophy with HHA I will need to redecorate everything! It will definitely be a long process and I’m not looking forward to it lol but it’s gotta be done!

i've been playing since launch day and my house has been roughly the same for months now. when the mermaid series was added, i filled my back room with that maybe a month after the update. other than that, the tweaks have been minor. the other week, i replaced the sea globe in my bathroom with the blue hula doll. i dropped a few lost items in various rooms (since you can't store them) and hung my latest villager pictures in my upstairs room.

yesterday, i replaced the frying pan in my kitchen with the harvest casserole pot, and today i replaced several items in my main room with harvest festival pieces. when Christmas comes, something in there will get replaced with a Christmas tree but that's really it as far as changes will go.

if they ever add the alpine series (or if the pave series returns identically to how it was in NL), one of my rooms might get redone completely using that.

I haven’t redecorated yet. I’m redoing my island so my focus is on my outdoor decor at the moment. Once I finish with that or get tired of just looking on the outside then I will redo my interior. Ever since new leaf I’ve done a cabin aesthetic for my main room so I really wanna change that up. Also I want to change my kitchen and bedroom and probably bathroom and basement lol. Basically the only room I’d be okay leaving untouched is my left side room which is kind of a mini green room/relax space

I swap out usually tabletop items for seasonal or holiday decor, or plants for seasonal holiday plants. Other than that once I actually have my set layouts then I'll stop changing it so much.

I'm happy with the way my house looks now; sometimes I get inspiration to change something when a new item comes around.

I did recently change my bedroom slightly, same furniture, but I added a sitting area and the turkey day wallpaper and flooring because it matches w/ the brown imperial and antique furniture (I have a mix of both in the room).

I don't redecorate too frequently once I get a gold HHA trophy since I don't want to reduce points. Plus it takes so long and is so much work to get the gold trophy (for me, anyway). So, I just start a new house with a secondary character when I have an urge to try something new.

When I start decorating a room I usually have a concept going in, so I arrange them to match the concept with whatever furniture I have. Once I get it to a point that I like, I really don't change it up much unless I get a piece of furniture that I've been looking for that goes with whatever the theme or furniture set may be. Sometimes I do want to make my main room feel fresh, so I usually just change the wallpaper and flooring to give the room a different feel while keeping the furniture the same. Other than that, all of my rooms have looked the same for months now, but that's just because I'm happy with them. I can feel myself getting the hankering to completely redo my upstairs though, so maybe that'll happen someday lol

Both. My island characters all have seasonal themes so once a season is over I stop decorating until new seasonal furniture gets released. Like right now autumn is nearing its end so I will stop decorating the autumn character and focus on the winter character. I have a feeling the developers will give us new furniture in increments to keep us playing. Bunny Day for next year may give us new furniture in addition to the ones from this year.
