Do you reset to get villagers in a good spot? Or just let them move in where they want?

If you reset do you reset with a spot you want them to be? Or just so the don't destroy anything?

I will reset only so nothing gets destroyed. I don't have the patience to reset to get a villager in a certain spot. The longest I've ever reset was maybe 2 hours due to my friend having his stuff everywhere in my town and the villager kept putting his house on the items.

Also sorry if the topic has been created before. I'm not sure if it has been.

I plot reset. I've tried to get them to move in a certain spot, but I never could. I usually just reset until I like where they put their house.

I've only reset for my cycling towns random move ins to get some popular villagers to move in for auctions/raffles

I only reset if they're in an area that I have a specific plan for. As long as they're not in these areas or on one of my paths, I leave them be.

All the time. I hate it when they place homes in my fruit orchards, in front of paths, or space thats reserved for PWP.

No.

tbh most people's method for plot resetting (having villagers all neatly packed in certain area(s)) just doesn't appeal to me at all. Like it somehow ends up being the most unappealing thing imo, despite unquestionably being the "tidiest". Though I can sorta understand not wanting to have everyone on top of each other or something, but at the same time.. ugh.

I guess I just have vague areas I'd like them to be in. Like not a specific set out location, but I like to try and group them so that I have room for PWP and landscaping the way I'd like

I plot reset but not for a super specific spot just a general area because I defiantly don't want them in front of bridges

Yeah.

I always plot reset, I don't want my villagers to ruin a good spot in my town. Can not let that happen.

I didn't when I first started (because I didn't know about it), but I have for my most recent move ins. I'm not too particular about where they go. As long as they don't plop down on my hybrids, my little orchard, or in the middle of my paths, I'm good.

I plot reset until the villager move in a certain spot (generally dirt paths) and my attempts have been successful overall :)

I tried to, but I just gave up ;-; . Up to 7 villager homes were nicely placed, and now the rest are in dumb spots, sigh.
When I would go on a new character the next day to check for plots (streettpassed a villager so I knew she'd be arriving), I'd see no plots!! Each time, each day. But as soon as I log on my mayor, it's there ._. So I just gave up. I -might- try to make the bad placements look better somehow, but it's hard. All my trees and plants were nicely arranged with pathways, and having a house in front of my bridge just killed it.

Not usually, but sometimes I might have lots of hybrids all around the town though, so I need to check that the new villager won't destroy them.. I still think that plot resetting is waste of time and I don't understand how people can actually do that for like a week :D

I plot reset for each new move-in, but I don't have any super specific spots where I want them to go. I just don't want them on paths/on flowers/etc. I actually prefer the way it looks when villager's houses aren't perfectly aligned or somewhat scattered. I personally find it really boring to see all 10 houses in a perfectly straight line, but that's just me.
