When I started playing I was so young I didn't really understand turnips. ACNH is the first game I'm trying to do turnips in. What have your experiences been, and is it something you've always done? Do you consider yourself a casual player or a serious player?
This is my first AC game and kind of enjoy the thrill of the stalk market. I'm aware how the stock market works irl but can't get into it since it involves real money. Anyway back tot the stalk market, so far I've having a good two weeks. I'm more on the less risky side because I don't have a lot of bells to put into the stalk market so my profit in less than most serious players actually do and I don't travel to other island to look for high selling price for turnips. Trying not to earn too much from the stalk market because I might get bored if I have too much money.
Buy as many turnips as you can buy, every time. Then wait for someone to post that Nook is buying for ~500. It's as simple as that. Do it every time, no exceptions.
I didn't do the stalk market in New Leaf, but I have done it every week so far in New Horizons and so far it's going great! I made 2 mil this week, and I didn't buy low from Daisy Mae. Looking for turnip prices in The Airport forum is really helpful!
although, I definitely wouldn't call myself a "serious" turnip player, I buy every week and I sell every week, and it's helpful to make money, but I don't keep track of trends in my turnip prices, I don't buy enough turnips to fill my attic floor with, and if I take a loss, I don't mind. I don't spend a whole lot of money each week, but it's super easy to make an amazing profit!
I buy a full inventory full every week and sell either on my own island if prices are alright, but on others if my week's prices aren't good. This game is the first one I've committed to using turnips as my main source of income. The only hard thing is finding a good place to put all the turnips, but just today I made a little 'garden' plot fenced in, based on something I saw on twitter. Isabelle is worried about all the littering on town now, though, lol.
Never used to in earlier games because it was kind of easier making bells other ways. Especially in New Leaf with the rare bugs and fish on the island. Now it takes longer to grind a lot of bells imo so I started buying/selling turnips more often. So far my island has terrible prices so I check threads here and go for towns that don't charge huge entry fees
about 95% of my New Leaf experience was on my own. I also TT'd in the game because I didn't have the focus or patience to play it daily. Because I TT'd and hardly interacted with other players, I never participated in the stalk market. Mostly because I always thought any time traveling would spoil turnips until just the other day where I learned it's only if you TT backwards x'D In New Horizons I don't plan on TTing hardly at all, so I've decided to give the Stalk Market the chance and I'm having fun with it!
It's super fun having a circle of friends all doing the stalk market and sharing our prices with each other and selling at each others places when there's a good price. before this week I tried to sell my turnips as soon as possible in the forums, but this week onward I'm only gonna be using that as a last resort/running out of time :O
I actually had a situation where I sold my turnips early to a player's town on here for 400+, but a few days later my own turnip prices went to 557. So yeah, I definitely learned my lesson to wait things out. I've personally only been buying a mostly-full inventory of turnips, so I've usually been making at least over a mil in profits if I find a good price, but I'm considering upping my game. I just feel bad personally if I have so many turnips that I'd need to take multiple trips if I end up needing to seek out people in the forums to sell them
I never did in NL, only bought them for the flies. I started buying them last week and since I didn't really do any research I just bought a 100, and when i kept checking my prices everyday they would be like 100 bells and under :/ and i bought them again this week and it looks like the same thing is gonna happen!
Didn't play it in City Folk because I was never on during Sundays, but now I've been keeping track with one of the little tracker sites made by players, and I'm hoping to make a nice little sum this week. :-] I don't go crazy with it, but it's fun!
i wouldn't buy as many as i do (1 full inventory) if i didn't have other islands to go to and sell! but yeah, i've been doing it since wild world! i usually sleep in though LOL so it's rare when i do
I did, my plan was to get enough bells from the market to pay off the Nooks. I did it and now I'm done. Sites like this make it super nice to be in the market and I'm happy to say I never had a problem here. I just don't like to keep track of my turnips and what day it is. It's a responsibility and gamble. I say get enough bells to get your debt mostly paid, get those last minute bridges and ramls, but afterward forget it.
I only buy a single inventory worth of turnips because the process of visiting people's islands stresses me out, but I made my first million today using it! I tried using turnip exchange and it was so extreme with the huge entry fees and the glitchy queue that would let you join only to kick you out. I'll definitely keep selling him on here weekly though because I haven't had any problem selling here!
I played the stalk market starting in NL. I've never had great prices myself, but there's such a big community out there that it's easy to make a huge profit. I only do 1 full inventory (4k turnips) because otherwise, I feel like it's pretty game breaking.
Never bought turnips until NL, which is the first game I played online for. Made millions of bells that way. I've done it a little in NH but the lack of an airport locker is really limiting in the number you can sell if you visit someone else's island, so I feel awkward asking to make more than one trip.
