Do you or will you ever hunt for for avaragely popular or unpopular villagers?

I found Bella while island hoping and I really should have took her. So many people think she's ugly but I love her punk look and she was one of the peppies I remember from WW. Ironically I think its harder to find a really unpopular villager being given away because so many people will just void them rather than post them here. But now I'm seeing a lot of popular villagers being voided as I think many people already have their see villagers and don't need to find them.

I’ve never been a villager hunter because I’m always scared I won’t find them and then it will be a waste of NMTs and the plot when it autofills the next day. That said I can totally see someone hunting for unpopular villagers, especially if it’s for their own island and not for later sale. If you want Frita for example, you’ll have the exact same chance of finding her on a nook miles island than Raymond.

I have just a smol list of dreamies left who I’m hunting for that are considered popular or beloved by the community BUT I have a MASSIVE list of those who don’t get as much love! I’m planning on getting my dreamies first and letting them enjoy life on my island. Once they decide to leave, then I can tackle that list!

I didn't island hunt for specific villagers, as I had no idea which villagers were in the game when I started!

I just island hopped until I found villagers I thought were cool.

It's interesting to me to see who's 'popular' and who's not, as my own tastes match with that in certain instances (Fauna, Dom...), but not in others (I love Astrid and Rolf, for example, but didn't gel with Marshal).

I really want to get Croque on my island at some point! And I don't know if they're popular or not, but I also love the look of Pecan and Kitty.

I think the most popular villager I actively hunted for was Genji. I didn't even know he was in-demand but people were apparently offering 100+ NMT for him.

I do have Judy, Sherb, and Raymond on my island, but I didn't really hunt for them, more like stumbled (luckily) upon them. I just enjoy villager hopping, it makes me realize which villagers I really want to have on my island. I realized I liked Shep and Lily from the island hops, and I kinda regret not inviting them when I first saw them. I'm going to actively hunt for them again soon.

I feel like hunting based on wether it’s a popular or unpopular villager is ridiculous. i mean, to each their own but seriously lol. i’m sick of hate-trains and popularity bandwagons lmao. anyway personally i just look for villagers that i think are cute!

I like way too many characters to only have a set of dreamies, I don't care about their popularity, just as long as I like them

I have no idea, I hunt for the villagers I like by looking over them all and seeing which ones look good to me. I still have not looked at the popularity lists, so maybe my island has the most popular ones or maybe not, I don't know and will only find out if someone who visits tells me. Others don't spend as much time on your island as you do, so you should have villagers who appeal to you and your preferences cause you have to live with them and look at them everyday (unless you stop playing of course )

when I villager hunt the most specific I'll get will be looking for a particular personality if I'm lacking it. I have had some fairly popular villagers on my island but I didn't take them in for their popularity necessarily, I just thought they seemed nice. I've got plenty of less 'desirable' villagers - take Rodney for example - that I adore so it's just kind of down to personal preference

Probably youtube channels and streamers. There's one hunt video I watched where someone was trying to find the top 10 for their island.

I think some people do when they get tired and want to stop and try to sell the villagers.

I only care about the popularity of the top ones so I can give them away after I get their photo. Reason why I have Judy right now and I really don't like her.

I haven't actively hunted for any unpopular ones so far, and I think the only one that could even be classed as averagely popular would be Octavian (although he's no longer on my island anymore). While I don't choose my villagers based on how popular they are, pretty much all of the ones that I like just happen to be top tier, but I guess they are all well liked for a reason. I'm probably going to go for lucky or coco next, but honestly at this point it seems like it would be much easier to just adopt one of them from a user on here, instead of spending days hunting for them. Villager prices have went way down, and I even see the more popular ones being given away for free now, so it would save me a lot of NMT, and more importantly, time, if I were to just buy them outright.
