in my first town i did not, i named my first mayor debi after my username, but in my second town i did bc id finally picked a name for myself and i like it. i dont dress him up like me tho, i dress him up however i like.

When I first got City Folk and Wild World, not only did I name my character after me, but I named the town after the town I lived in. When I got New Leaf, I decided to name my character Katie, because that's what all of my friends call me online :p

My mayor is named after myself, solely because I feel like if I don't name it after myself it doesn't really feel like a life simulator, since i'm not using a virtual version of myself to play the game. Also, whenever I use any other name like I have done in the past for the mayor I often find that i'm very unattached to the name and I usually regret naming my mayor that name, since I can't change it. However with my real name, I don't really have much choice LOL so I can't really regret my mayor name choice because it's my actual name haha. Although in wild world, I hardly ever used my real name.

For my main town, I didn't use my name since it's a theme town. I mean, I could have but it wouldn't have suited the town.

As for my second town, I chose to name my mayor after myself and dress up as I would in real life. :)

My name, Charlotte, is 1 letter too long which annoys me so much. I used to just name my character char or charl but I didn't like it so I've named my character Florence :-)

Nope. Not even close...

Besides my whole town is based of a story I made up when I was like 10
and 5 years later I am still working on it

No. I used to as I was younger with other games but started using random names that I liked later on.

No I've never named a character after myself. I don't know why. It just feels weird like I'm trying to be a self-insert Mary Sue if I did.

Yes I have, but if I was given the chance, I would change my mayor's name to a name that I prefer more.

I voted "no," but that's only partly true.
My mayor, Athelwyn, was named after a sorceress in an old Lord of the Rings computer game. However, I have been using this name online for over half my life. I answer to it both online, and in real life (by the few IRL friends who use it). So it's me, but not. :)

My Mayor has my nickname, and she sorta looks like me. She has big brown eyes & most of the time she has dark brown hair. I do change it to pink sometimes. My main characters have all been named Lainey in every version of AC, and usually in every game I play where I can name the character.

Yes and no. "Pun" is basically a name for characters that are meant to have a story, while my main handle is "Punisher". A derivative, if you will.

I used to have my Animal Crossing name as my irl name, but now it's just Phillup.

i like to name my character something else because it's fun to choose pretty creative names. sometimes i do wish i did use my own name though.
