I don't really miss the daily Pitfall Seeds. I just didn't like dealing with them. And crafting them in bulk is better for anyone who wants to use them instead of hoarding them one by one (or waiting for the island tours in NL that let you dig up a bunch of them).
But I do really miss the Gyroids. I'm guessing that they'll be back once Brewster is also back; hopefully he'll also store Gyroids as well.
I miss my dancing, singing bois. I can't wait to slap them down on every corner of the town
As others have said, pitfall seeds are in the game but you need the diy to craft them. I'm still trying to find the pitfall seed diy. Over 300 diys and still no pitfalls... I have a mischievous side so pitfalls are fun for me
If gyroids come back with Brewster I don't think they'll be excavated. I think you'll have to craft them with clay and stuff...
I'm not too bothered about gyroids being gone and the pitfalls as DIYs but I do miss accidentally falling into the holes / seeing villagers fall in. There were like 4 gyroids I liked too but otherwise I'm fine with them being added later.

a thing to note is that jocks only give the recipe, and if you have a friend that has a pitfall for you, you can dig it up and learn the recipe that way
How do you get a Pitfall anyway? Do villagers just suggest it eventually? I know that if someone has a Pitfall and you dig it up, you'll learn it. But I don't know anybody with a Pitfall, so I'm just wondering.
I'm kinda glad that pitfalls aren't on the ground every day. It was annoying when I would accidentally step on them, or a villager stepped in them and then got grumpy for a while. I'd rather pitfalls be put down because you want them to be.
Gyroids are weird but interesting. I wouldn't mind them back. I feel like they're probably going to come back in the future.
I hated digging pitfalls and gyroids lol. I'm more than okay with getting fossils only, but I won't be mad if you obtain gyroids in other ways, like through events or crafting like the pitfalls.
I'll be honest, the pitfalls and gyroids spawning underground were a little annoying to me. I do miss Brewster's gyroids though, they were always an exception for me. Pitfalls can be crafted; I found the DIY, and I'm glad they're optional as I know there are people who like them or don't mind them.
I've never really been interested in the pitfalls. I never liked to use them because I'd feel like a jerk if I planted them and my villagers fell in them, and they were always just one other thing you might dig up when you're looking for your daily fossils in the past games. Plus, once in a blue moon I'd fall in one on accident. They are overall, to me, a bother. I'm content with them being DIYs this time.
As for gyroids, I do miss them. I've been fond of them since the GameCube game, though I've never used them as much in any game since that one. I'd like to see them return in the future, but if they don't I also wouldn't be too upset since they're in New Leaf and I still play New Leaf as well.
I don't miss digging up pitfalls. In New Leaf I used to bury the pitfall in the corner of my map just so I don't have to dig it up during my daily routine. I think it makes more sense that we get to craft them now.
I miss gyroids though!! Before the game came out I had a whole forest area in mind that would just be a gyroid forest. I liked collecting them in previous games and using them in houses as well.
Back in new leaf I cared less for gyroids until I noticed how some players used the very nice looking ones that I ended up doing the same thing. One of my houses in my second town is a cafe/cake shop, each room was different. Using gyroids as people behind a cash register was a cool idea. Gyroids would be perfect in new horizons for that.
Gyroids, yes, pitfalls no! I like the lore of gyroids and I think they add a lot of character to the AC universe. I also like how they interact with the music in the game. Pitfalls are mostly just for being mean to villagers and I don’t like that kind of thing.
I'm in the "glad to see pitfalls are DIY" camp. They're fun for making obstacle courses and other planned mini-games, but I hate running across them in the world at-large. I'm neutral on gyroids.
Gyroids- I miss them, but they should increase the maximum number of possible buried items in the ground at once from 6 to 10 so we could get a good mix of gyroids and fossils without too much negative impact on how many fossils we dig up.
Pitfalls- I’m glad they’re now optional, I hated those.
