Do you make or buy your tools?

Interested as to what others do - I always used to craft them, but now I’m further in game (feel like you can’t buy the fancy tools, or possibly any tools (?) nearer the start of the game but can’t remember?) I just find it so much easier to buy tools plus the colourful tools look so cute customised purple haha! Plus it means I now don’t have to carry sticks and iron around with me to make more every time they break, providing I have backups or remember to customise them before they break! Are the basic tools even customisable? Anyway, just interested to know, thanks! :)

Usually I make them, but some of them are pretty, so I'll buy them. I try to keep them customized so they don't break, but I tend to lose track and they go *poof* on me.

I mostly buy my tools bc I love the colorful fishing rod (ducky one), star net, colorful shovel, and the colorful slingshot. I end up customizing them often so they don’t break so I don’t buy tools that often anymore (and the tools don’t break)

but recently for the NM achievement, I’ve been making flimsy rods/nets using the tree branches from shaking for pine cones & acorns and using those until they break

I do like the fancy ones you can buy and I do buy them sometimes, but I often craft them because of the nook mile achievement for crafting tools.

It's a mixture. I've started to buy shovels because I use them so much. I try to remember to use the custom kit method but the repetition of digging will make me lose track of time.

Bug nets, fishing rods and axes are sometimes bought. Slingshots, stone axes are not. I barely use the watering can, so that's usually bought.

I buy my preferred tool variations (star net, colourful fishing rod, printed-design shovel) and track usage. I swear I count usages correctly, yet sometimes, the tools break before I anticipated them to. XD

both. if i'm at nooks cranny and i need a tool i'll buy one of the nice ones for convenience but typically i'll try to craft them.

I buy them because some of them are so cute! I loved the fishing rod with the rubber duckie on the end and the elephant watering cans are so adorable!

I do both. I usually buy them now, but if I have some extra materials that I don’t want to stash in my storage and to free up some bag space, I’ll make them.

For me, it depends on what Nook Miles+ prompts I have. If I have the prompt to craft 3 DIY items, and I need a new tool, then I craft. However, if I have the prompt to spend 3,000 Bells, I'll buy one. On rare occasions when I have both prompts at once, I'll buy a flimsy tool and then upgrade it myself.

Lately I've been leaning more towards buying, though; I just got the upgrade to Nook's Cranny and I love the fancy tools so much!

I always buy my favourite version of my tools in the shop! Then I customize them to refresh them. If they break and the shop is closed, I'll craft another and keep crafting it until the shop has my favourite version of the tool stocked.

Also, to get the achievement for the nook miles, I craft all the extra sticks I get into flimsy tools! And with it being fall, and shaking trees for acorns/pinecones, I'm getting a lot of them! They all get crafted into fishing rods and nets and then sold in bulk haha

I used to make them, and I still do occasionally if nook's is closed and I need another shovel asap, but nah for the most part I've been buying them all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I buy simple shovels (which I'll craft to make into a regular shovel) and slingshots since I'm way too lazy to chop enough wood to keep up with how quickly they break. I have a bunch of them in my storage so that I don't have to go to the shop every time/so I can still get more if the shop is closed. My stick bundles and ore never run out, so I craft my rods and nets.
I have a ton of bells, so I'm not sure why I don't just buy the more expensive shovels.. I guess I just prefer the normal looking one
