do you have to be on speaking terms with villagers so they will move out?

im cycling right now, and i finally got some people to move in so i can start, only problem, they're the only two who have not asked to move out yet, what can/ should i do?

I've had villagers that I've only spoke to once or twice that have moved out within a week or so, if I don't like a villager I just usually neglect them until they go :(

just make sure you talk to them at least once a week, i think?
i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure once villagers get into that "omg *insert mayor's name*! i haven't seen you in *insert amount of weeks*!" mode, they won't ping you about anything

then again, i'm not sure if pinging is necessarily a requirement for moving, either

I'm nearly 100% sure that you DON'T need to be on talking terms for them to move out. That being said, yes! you NEED to be on talking terms for them to ping! you about moving out...

Anyone else agree? :P

Yeah. If you are not on speaking terms, they will still leave, but they will just quietly disappear into the night without warning you. I can confirm this because villagers tell me that another villager is thinking about moving out even if I'm not on speaking terms with that villager.

sometimes I save my game right before I go walk around.. if one of the villagers I want to move (and I have been ignoring) pings at me and I answer. If they don't ask to move out then I just close the game and it is like I didn't even talk to them. Most of the time I am just told by another villager that so-and-so wants to move and then I talk to them and get a move date. I wish there was an easier way!
