Do YOU have an ego??

Do you guys have an ego in this game?? and what i mean by that is: you usually tend to think that your town, villagers or even your character is slightly or completely better than most people's? I tend to do this alot, i'll go to one of my friend's town and immediately think "yup, my town is way better", i wont say anything about their town but while im there the thought of my town being "better" is always lingering in the back of my mind. (btw im not a jerk, i promise!!, i usually love to help ppl get bells, hybrids and unorderables, if you need any help check me out on gamefaqs!) PLEASE tell me i'm not the only one who does this!

A bit yeah, I'm very proud of my towns.

I mean, I put a lot of effort into my towns designs and designing them is basically the only thing I do with them, which I easily spend like 700-1000h on and landscaping in ac is one of the few things I consider myself semi-good at. It's also become a weird passion? Like I keep wanting to buy new copies to make new towns.

I can also be a bit proud about my villager choices in a way? Like when I see a town full of tier 1's I go ''pschaw thats some generic tastes'' Even though there's nothing wrong with liking tier 1's, I'm just kinda bitter about how imo the most 'interesting' villagers are like tier 4&5.

But tbh outside of that I'm not too egoistic. Like ac landscaping is the one thing I can admit being good at. It's the one thing I'm proud of lol.

The complete opposite, actually. I go to other people's town, see they spent more time making it look really cool, and I say to myself "Why can't I ever come up with something this awesome?" I had the game for nearly 3 years now and I still don't have a single creative theme for my town. I just name it "Hoenn", put a few basic paths down (which I NEVER finish) and that's it. XD

Also, wouldn't this thread be more suitable in ACNL discussions?

Well sortof. I went to an official Nintendo event and one of the staff members there asked me if I knew of ACBay.com.
I said I was the Site Manager of the site and they LEGIT said "Looks like we have a VIP with us today then."

I sometimes think that my town is slightly better than most of the towns I visit, but I think it's mostly due to the fact that my town is pretty much complete and the towns I go to are asking for help on what to do or what to fix. I mean obviously if you compare a fully furnished house with a house that is still in the development stage, then you would like the furnished house better.

Like Dinomates said, I pride myself in my ability to design things in ACNL whether it is landscaping, interior decorating, or pattern making. There is nothing wrong with evaluating all the effort you put in to your work.

I don't think villagers matter though since getting them is mostly based on luck rather than skill or talent.

Not really. I put a lot of work into prettifying my town but I don't silently judge other's towns. Best part about visiting other towns is getting ideas on how to improve mine!

Nah, I'm not very good at designing towns so I always go to other people's towns and think "Why can't I come up with something like this?" Also, I picked a map with five ponds, and I'm kind of regretting it now.

not really! i tend not to think about people's towns at all. even then, i'm usually "oh, y/n's town is pretty cool. " i suffer a lot from a lack of self-esteem / self-confidence, so i will say that " my town's pretty nice looking, but it needs x ". i always try and improve my town layout when i feel up to it.

Strangely enough, no. There are so many different possible town designs, characters, houses, etc. That I can't really find room for comparison.

Nope My town is still in progress even though I've put in considerable amount of work. But when I go to someone else's towns I always see how much better their town is compared to mine. And I get ideas off of it to improve my town ^-^

My town isn't great and it's not even really "good" to most people probably. (it's just a basic cedar forest) To me it's pretty awesome though. When I visit other people's towns I always think theirs looks better. So no I wouldn't say I have an ego.

Ehhh yes and no. My villager always looks pretty cute. She's basically a Kardashian, but my town still has a looooooong way to go. I mean there's paths and a tonne of hybrid flowers, but it needs more public works projects, and despite my hours of diving, requests are few and far between. Then when I get them they're like "chair sculpture", "blue bench", and "outdoor chair". I want a wisteria trellis, and a hot spring and more attractive bridges :/
