do you have a villager hunt success story

I just spent all my miles on tickets (40 or so islands visited) and didn’t see someone I even moderately wanted, and I wasn’t interested in the campsite method— I knew the risks! Now, I saw a lot of cute villagers but they weren’t for me. I was after Julian or Ankha. Big ask, but I’m an optimist. (No luck, but thats the risk ya take)
So I’m here to live vicariously through you. Please share your successful hunts.

My forced campsite villager was my most sought after villager so I suppose that's it. Otherwise, my NM Island luck is pretty bad not gonna lie haha I often times end up just settling for a villager instead of the ones I'm looking for

Yes! Besides Marshal, Erik and Ankha who just showed up at my campsite, I successfully found my villagers on islands besides Genji! The best luck I've had was probably 1 NMT for Sherb but I didn't move him in since I was looking for someone else.

My worst luck on the other hand was 145 islands without finding Genji I traded with from someone on this forum for him though

I once found Fauna in about 9 tickets or so, and she's one of my favorite villagers in the game! I've also spent a lot of Nook Miles tickets and not found anyone, though, so I feel your pain.

I did the campsite trick and after 34 villagers, I finally found Audie. When times are tough IRL, it just makes me smile a little to see this beautiful, sunny wolf walking around my island.

Early in April I found Diana on my 3rd island. Today I found Dobie on my 3rd island as well. Was definitely prepared to go at least 10 before I found someone I liked.

This is freaky but I've had 2 of my dreamies move in as random move ins/void move ins! Literally TWO of them out of OVER FOUR HUNDRED! Of course, I already have their Amiibo cards and I was slowly moving them in one by one but I still think that's an incredibly amazing coincidence. One of them was my dreamie jock but I have another jock that I'm keeping for now because I didn't get a chance to ever have them in my town in New Leaf so it was quite a shock to see him! I thought, "Wait... Did I move in him in my sleep?!??!" No, just a random, happy coincidence! The other one was Mira who my brother also wanted so I gave her to him and moved her in with an Amiibo. I haven't done much island hopping but Audie was literally the second villager I found on an island. She wasn't a dreamie so I had to let her go. Otherwise I tend to just trade on the forums or Discord. I don't really feel up to the campsite trick but if I reset my town, I may have to!

I got Marshal, Julian, Diana, Raymond, Lucky from Campsite method

Mitzi was a win even if she ended up being a starter villager. She is on my top 5 must have list and have had her in every game. Found her on a rando island.

Lobo and Rudy were also good finds on 2 rare islands. A money rock and hybrid island respectively.

My best luck was Raymond. Found him on an island hopping spree and just pure dumb luck on ticket 37 I found him. Just before work too.

I was super lucky and I got Chevre on a mystery island. I was looking for Mint but I just couldn't pass Chevre up

Yes, after spending 3 weeks and several hours a day grinding Nook Miles tickets, I found Raymond after about 500 island trips. I didn't have tons of luck along the way, though, but all of that exasperating work I did to find him makes me appreciate him so much more than had I adopted him or found him through some other way. I'm not sure if I would have tried the campsite method had I known about it then but it definitely would have saved me a lot of time and stress.

I guess I had some luck finding Tia, too. I have her Amiibo card but I didn't want to risk it when the "I've Moved Out" glitch was happening. I managed to find her about 80 tickets into my Raymond hunt.

And come to think of it, I had luck finding Gaston as well. I only spent about 8 tickets once I decided I wanted to have him on my island. I had passed him by earlier and regretted it. I didn't think I would be so lucky to find him so quickly when most of my luck prior to that had been pretty bad.

I haven't had any luck with mystery islands (I did invite Deirdre who I think is super cute but she isn't one of my dreamies) but I had two of my dreamies (Bruce and Diana) show up at the campsite. (No TT/campsite method)

I had been searching for Vivian on islands and the forums for a couple of weeks. I finally had a free spot so I went island hopping again. I only had enough for 7 NMT. I bought 5 at first no luck. I bought one more before I just left it to fate and a random move in. I slowly inched forward on the island and caught a view of her from behind.. I squealed and ran! Other than my sweet girl I’ve had horrid luck lol

did the campsite trick for Raymond and Diana (well not specifically I was looking for a few snooties) and got each after about 4 tries
also found dotty on an island once but didn't take her in - I regretted that a bit but the next time I went island hopping I found her on the first island!

cards & trading as RNG is never really on my side... and when i got good RNG, i got raymond instead of sherb.. it's fine tho
