For reference, I currently have all my original villagers. Paula is moving out 12/3 (she?s free) but other than that I have them all. I haven?t thought about ?collecting? villagers because I was TTing a bit and didn?t want to miss someone new or have them leave. But I really like Lopez and Bam and my horses Colton and Papi. I like Chief too. I was considering trying to collect hooved villagers only but haven?t committed.

Were you selective about your villagers or did you theme them?

I'm selective about my villagers. I have to like not only their design and personality (they have to mesh well) but I also take into account their house design---both interior and exterior. I do have some exceptions since I have had villagers who are typically considered ""ugly"" in my town. x3 I like having villagers I find cute in my town to go along with the fairytale themed buildings and how cutesy both characters and their houses are. I do appreciate villagers of all different species but of course some more than others.

since my town is western themed, i struggle a bit with villagers.

i thought about just having horses at first, but now i'm leaning toward having just "farm animals." pigs, sheep, horses, chickens, etc. i'll also be happy with the occasional dog, like Lucky and/or Shep. as long as they fit my theme in some way i don't mind the "style." personality doesn't mean much to me, just their designs and species. as of right now i don't have any "good" villagers- as in, none that i plan on keeping. i'm really hoping to change this soon, and hopefully get in some villagers that i actually want!

In Moriyo, you either are a magical animal, or you're leaving cause you aren't a magical animal ex Stitches, Tia, Phoebe aka firebird, Ruby, Diana, Julian, ect.. the only exceptions are Sterling cause I really like him, Whitney causes she's too pretty and the 2 amiibo animals, Benjamin and Flurry. I plan on gettin rid of them one way or another.

Might transfer Fauna to Secret.

I don't really have a "type" of villager. I like so many of them for different reasons. I think that each one has their own charm. Some I enjoy, but I'm ready to let them move on when they ask. Others I become so attached to that I can't bear to let them leave.

Since my town is only partially themed, I gave myself a lot of leeway on villagers. I'm slowly cycling through them and just enjoying the process.

If I ever create a themed town, and I do have several ideas for themes, then I'd be more strict about my villagers matching the themes...both their aesthetics and their houses.

I don't really have a style in mind but I realised that a lot of my current villagers that I liked/kept/adopted have blushy cheeks!!! Like Blanche, Shari, Apple, Marshal, Diana and Merengue... I don't really pay attention to the cheeks but maybe subconsciously I find them cuter.

I mostly try to go for color matching I guess! My town's supposed to be dark and cutesy so I try to stick to villagers with pastels and/or dark and light colors (Muffy, Diana, Vesta, Etoile, etc). That said sometimes I make exceptions bc I find a villager really cute, like Genji. He doesn't really fit in too well colorwise but I wanted him badly anyway

I love the villagers that are "natural looking", if it makes sense. The oens who look similar to how the animal is in real life  Like Teddy, Erik, Goldie, Zell, Lopez, Drake, Kiki.. you get me? haha

I'll usually go with villagers that have a more neutral color palette and their houses aren't too theme-specific. I have a couple purple villagers though cause purple's cool I guess.

I like black villagers .
I have muffy, rodeo, hamphrey, roscoe , Portia , Kiki, cole, Mathilda , nan and ken.
I plan on replacing ken though because he?s more blue than black and swapping out with Raddle.

Do you have a dream addreess? Sorry for asking, I noticed you have a similar theme to me and I?d love to visit :)

i feel like i like the “cutesier” villagers but i’m really attached to a few of my town’s original characters (puck is my ride or die bro, i’ve Learned to love hopper and i just got scoot + hamlet’s amiibo cards to bring them back) i also just got a set of Sanrio amiibo coins and instantly moved ?toile and marty in!

I more-or-less choose my villagers based on species, personality, and how cute/nice-looking they are. I have species that I love (cats, bears, wolves, rabbits, etc.) and other species that I never keep villagers from (hippos, goats, pigs, anteaters, etc.). Then within the species I like, I try to have at least one villager of each personality type, but no more than two of any of them. I usually have two normals, lazies or jocks because those are my favorite personalities, or two peppies because I find many of them to be cute.

Finally, I tend to like designs that are novelties (Tangy, Tia, Stitches), fit my Japanese-themed town (Zucker, Genji) or have gentle, natural-looking color schemes and designs (Lolly, Teddy, Kiki, Shari).

Not really! I honestly try to collect as many villagers as I can, just cycling through them to see who comes next! Of course I have some favourites (like Goldie and Zucker), but I'm okay without them. If they ever show up in my town, that would be awesome. If not, than not. :p

I just started a new town, and I don't care for many of my villagers. The only one I started to like is Soleil, and of course she's the first one to ping me to say she's moving lol. So I told her no, but maybe I'll let her go eventually. I don't put too much thought into my villagers. I like the randomness of it, it's a surprise to see who comes next! I'm making a list (in my blog) with which villagers I've had in my town so far, I think it'll be really cool to look at in a few months to see who've all come and gone!

You've got a nice theme going in there, almost pastel-y and soft colors.

I don't have much of a "style" of villagers in my town. I mainly choose the ones I like and go from there.

Super Long Responses!!

It totally understand :) That was me and the hooved animals. I love the idea of farm animals. Vic in my village has a western feel (his house is nautical and he wears a viking hat) but its the "bull" look that is western to me.

I love that you went with mythical animals! I can't imagine how rare it probably is and hard to obtain!

I agree it can be hard when you are attached! I feel like I don't know 10% of the available villagers and should branch out too. I've been thinking about a new game too that I can theme and be more particular about as well. What theme would you go with?

That's freaking adorable!! Diana is so cute and Apple also! I say, stick with the cheeks! <3

I totally understand! I love Genji's design too (reminds me of tomogatchi) but I don't think he would look good with my villagers either.

I have Lopez too and he is a favorite for looks and personality! I love that you like keeping it "natural". I like their color palettes too! I love love love goldie too.

I haven't paid much attention to their houses since my town is not landscaped at all. I think that their houses are cute and usually match their personalities well. I love that you have Lolly!

I love a kawaii theme! I think ?toile is possible the most pastel cute villager I have ever seen! <3

Who can resist Tangy!? I haven't put much thought into my villager's personalities but I like that you take that into account!

I totally agree that I haven't met enough villagers. I will probably keep Bam, Lopez, Papi, and Colton for a while and cycle out the rest for the same reason! :)

No problem! I do, but my town is super under construction lol so go in with low expectations c': I'm hoping one day it'll be super great haha, the DA is 4E00-00BA-17A4! I'm pretty curious about your town too, do you have a dream address? :3

No worries! And I do. It?s 5D00-00D0-3E9F. That?s Achrome. It?s supposed to be Gothic cute. So I think they might be very similar styles to yours. I currently also created a new town that I guess will be the revamped version of that one, but that?s still a work in progress ( I?m just fixing up small details of Achrome that I didn?t like ...like character names, town name, and some rooms )

Will be checking yours out later tonight around 8-9 pm est when I get home though! Very curious!

(,: Awh that's really nice of you to want to know. I currently have Fang, Rudy, Kiki, Hopkins, Lily, Chrissy, Francine, Octavian, Tutu, and Diana. I'm moving out Diana & Octavian since I have their Amiibo cards and am trying to have less personality overlaps than my current lineup. I have the Sanrio cards and some others but I order items from their RVs so I can't justify inviting them to move in (may change in the future, who knows).

I personally collect all four (three minus Inkwell) octopuses since they're my favorite species, but other than that my villagers really depend on my mood, I suppose.
