Nope... I'm not sure why, my mum and dad both have amazing sense of direction. I get lost all the time (even with gps???). I can't read maps for the life of me. If you tell me directions, I'll forget them the moment I turn around. I still get lost in town even though I've lived here my whole life. It's embarrassing. At least I always have an extra high step count because if there's a direct route, you can be sure I took every extra street at least once and missed the destination twice. My friends usually tell me "come to location X (X= a super well known public spot or shop) and I will fetch you." and I'm eternally grateful for that!
It's even worse at night, I lose all sense of direction entirely once the sun is down. Sometimes I know the way TO somewhere but can't find my way back.
I like to think I have a good sense of direction! But since I've been travelling recently to new areas, sometimes I get disoriented. Like I have a good sense of relative direction, but I can't always figure out which way is north immediately.
My last place of work was arranged like a circle. This was theoretically helpful because things were equidistant.... but in reality it just got everyone confused because each direction looked the same.
I don't think so... Last time we were in a city and I got lost even with google maps. I had to ask at a gas station and even after getting directions I couldn't find it in time lol
Probably not the best! But I’d be able to recognize the area after a couple of tries! I wouldn’t usually be able to tell if we’re more North/East/West/South of a given area though.
I'm fine if it's a place I'm familiar with/have been to before ! otherwise no, it's not the best I usually need navigation and to not be rushed to figure it out.
Absolutely not. I have a terrible sense of direction and for example have opened the map repeatedly in Pokemon Legends Arceus just to make sure I'm going the right direction (I'm usually not!).
I also never got a driver's license so I'm not going to be anywhere by myself anyway.
No. I got lost in a bigger hotel, and I had to spend three hours at a food court waiting for my dad so he could take me back to my room. Keep in mind I was 23 at the time, so nobody really questioned that I was alone in the food court for that long. Thankfully, there were things to do in the hotel.
my sense of direction is pretty bad in general, think I get it from my mum, if we go further afield we get lost pretty quickly - my dad has a brilliant sense of direction and can remember a route he's only done once about 10 years ago, wish I could do that
I also rely on visual memory, that’s how I got myself around high school. Whenever someone asked me for room numbers, it would be completely lost on me because I only looked at them once or twice on the first day. As for multi-step directions involving right and left? Forget it! Especially in German. I will never forgive my teacher for that activity…
I think I do pretty well. As a kid, I was always the navigator on family trips, reading the map and telling my dad what exits to take. I think that set me up with a decent sense of direction. I do fine if I have instructions even if I've never been somewhere before.
not in terms of north/south/east/west, or road names, but based on landmarks I have a pretty good sense of direction. Like when visiting a new city for the first time, after wandering around for a bit I can usually find my way back to my hotel/to a certain place based solely on recognizing things. but if you're talking about road names, I literally don't even know the name of the street I live off of lmao
not at all. i’ve lived in the same city for pretty much the entirety of my life, and if you asked me how to get somewhere that isn’t in my general neighbourhood, i would not be able to tell you. i’m not sure why i’m like that— even when i do my best to pay attention while i’m in the car, out and about etc, my brain just refuses to remember where anything is or how to get anywhere. i’m gonna need someone to install a gps in there or something
Not too bad, generally I'm good with directions. However I got lost twice in the woods in the past...but i was in the right direction I could just not find a path.
