Do you feel bad saying no to villagers?

My villagers ask to buy things from me all the time. Garbage cans, fish, bugs, you name it. Most of the time I say no because, well, I don't want to mess their houses up. (I don't keep my dreamies perfectly original but prefer to give them stuff that matches them well!)

However, every time I say no to them, it breaks my heart!

Do you guys get this way?

Roscoe asked me to buy a detective hat for like 3300 bells, he’s the only villager I didn’t haggle with. He can have whatever he wants haha.

I’m not too attached to their interiors although Roscoe bought a turquoise changing room from me (didn’t know the color at the time, I just got it) and it does stand out in his dark house.

I figure he liked it enough to want it there so why not?

Yes!! I really don’t like giving my villagers random furniture especially since the ones I have in my inventory are usually ones I’m on my way to sell.

BUT there was one time I had a book (I actually needed it to craft a bookcase), and Filbert who’s my #1 asked for it. I declined and thought that’d be all but he proceeded to BEG and get all cutesy that I ended up giving in and letting him have it. Luckily it doesn’t look out of place in his house.

They're usually pretty understanding, so I don't mind saying no. :) I try not to socialize with full pockets anyway, to avoid getting asked in the first place.

for now i wont feel bad saying no because im trying to get all the villager pictures b4 settling with my dreamies so if cashmere wants a seabass in her house i will give her one simply for the friendship points. but if stitches asks me for a dung beetle i wont know what to do with myself bc i dont want his house to be ruined

edit: i cant finish my thoughts b4 i post smh :|

No, I don't care.
I don't appreciate them staring into my inventory without asking. Excuse me, get your stupid face outta there!

They should get 1000 hours of building sand castles. 😤

Just get Stitches a toy he doesn't already have to make it up to him, and it should fit right into his house theme!

I’m doing this in a sense. I’m planning on getting to know all 75 of my villager amiibos before settling down into more permanent communities. I dunno if I can narrow it down to 10 but maybe I’ll have a team B too.

Even then I dunno if I’m going to be too picky as I just want to have them around. We’ll see when I get there

I thought I would feel bad refusing their requests for bugs and fish, because I don't want to fill their houses with bugs and fish, but they're so nice about it that I actually enjoy seeing how they put a positive spin on it every time. They'll say how they realize that it's important to me to keep whatever it is, and they don't want to take it away from me. Or they'll say how they know they'll get the thing they want someday, it's just not the right time right now. Or they'll say they don't blame me for wanting to keep something that great for myself, and they'll just get their own somewhere else. One of my lazies even said something adorable about how he would get his own fish like the fish I have, and then the two of us would match.

I've never had a villager make me feel guilty for telling them no in New Horizons. And that's reasonable. Wouldn't a good friend not try to guilt you into selling something you don't want to sell them?

The only time I've ever said no to a villager was when one asked for a fish at like 1 A.M. and I was about to go to bed. Other than that, I say yes to everything. If you've ever seen Judy's pleading face before, you'd understand the struggle. She makes very good puppy eyes for a bear cub.

I'm the worst one here, because Audie asked me for something and I didn't feel bad at all. Because I hit Home and closed the game so I didn't have to deny her! Yeah. And the really sad thing is, I understand friendship goes up when you refuse them, so it doesn't even matter.

when they run up to me, I drop any ugly stuff in my pockets before I open dialogue (for characters I like)

however, if its a character I'm trying to kick, I'll give them whatever they ask for bc i don't care about their house/attire, just want their photo ASAP so friendship points are more important than decor.

My villagers only had ever asked to buy living creatures, never an actual object, so I sell it to them cause are always so excited, lol.

But I feel bad when they want to sell me horrible stuff, lol, and I have to say no.

i give them literally anything they ask for

i don't want to make them sad so if i ever accidentally press "this is yours" i quit the game so i don't have to see the sad/disapointed dialogue
