I enjoy the look of it when my town is finally coming together, but placing paths and pwp in the right places is kinda tedious. I also don't really have a theme, lol. I need help with landscaping, I have no idea what I'm doing. What are your thoughts?

It’s frustrating at times and makes my head hurt when I’ve been doing it for an hour trying to accomplish my vision, but when I manage to work it out it feels so good and rewarding. PWP spacing could be a hit or miss. Planning ahead is easy, but it all changes depending on the suggestions you get ugh.

Oh right you asked for help, it’s up to you. If you want more trees, flowers or bushes. They make the town livelier for me. Definitely plan the pwp you like to reserve spaces, google how much space they take. Put paths on them it doesn’t have to be a lot & you can put flowers to beautify the otherwise weird random paths. It’s tedious but it’s really worth it because sometimes it’s frustrating finding a place with Isabelle and she keeps saying you can’t put it there.

I love landscaping its just all the hybrids you have to breed and making sure villagers don't move into a specific spot.. Plot resetting I find swell ruins the aesthetic of the town as well

I like more now that my towns more or less formed, trying to landscape straight off the barrel is like shaving cats.

Landscaping is one of my favourite things to do in the whole game honestly haha.

I don't know how much this will help at all, but the method I used to build my town is laying down the paths first. I tried to connect each permanent building in an interesting way before placing any flowers/bushes/trees. Of course the design changed occasionally, but it's probably the best starting point. I would also recommend stocking up as many trees/bushes from Leif as you can because it becomes a lot easier to design large areas at once and can be quite annoying if you run out. I found out that whilst you are placing down your paths the pwp placements kind of appear... naturally? The flower arrangement was the very last thing that I focused on.

The type of path you use also depends a lot on the map you have. If you have generally spaced out buildings/large areas of free space then I recommend using a 2 space wide path, however if you have a lot of skinny areas or close buildings I highly recommend using 1 space wide paths! It's also a good way to avoid rocks that may be in the way. 1 space wide paths give your town more of a forest-y feel if that's what you're interested in.

I picked my town to have a colourful fairytale theme because I realised that my favourite pwps from the list of pwps were the fairytale themed ones, or generally fit the fairytale theme, so maybe that could help?

i had to pick i don't love it but i don't hate it either

because i get into these landscaping phases where all i care about is flower breeding, flower placement, pwps, paths, trees, bush starts and the like.

Then I go through phases where i literally don't care what the town looks like at all and i'll let it get over run with hideous roses and pansies lol

it's either one extreme or the other with me
