I clicked "I don't mind the yolk" but I probably would not eat the whole yolk in a mooncake; I prefer red bean or lotus paste mooncake :)

I'm Chinese, so eating mooncake definitely plays into culture a lot; I think we have like three packs of mooncake left from Mid-Autumn festival (but there's only six in each pack and they're pretty small so)

part south east asian here and i've never eaten it either.

According to Wikipedia, mooncakes are only prevalent in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore ~

:o but usually it's only within the Chinese community, so maybe that's why!

My little sister absolutely hates the yolk and she refuses to eat them. Actually, this year she just didn't eat any mooncakes at all...

I don't mind, I don't love the yolk but I don't hate it either – I'm not too fussy, and eating mooncakes is kinda fun!~ :3

i only like a little bit of the yolk. Sometimes it tastes kinda weird to eat all of it o.e heck i dont even eat a whole mooncake xD

for those who dont know:
mooncakes are traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival. usually they are filled with red bean paste or lotus seed paste, occasionally with egg yolk inside.View attachment 148744

:O Mooncake looks amazing!
Now I wish I was in an Asian area.

Ah yes, that makes sense c: Thanks!

I'm guessing you're Asian too? (:

It's okay. I prefer the ones with no egg at all like the pig shaped moon cakes.
My boyfriend always prefers the ones with two yolks in them. Those I really don't like. It's too much.

I like them with the yolk.
I'm not Asian though lol. My boyfriend's family is from Vietnam though and it's a part of Vietnamese culture. He'll eat one if I make him but it's not something he actively seeks out with or without yolk.
