So I'm not sure who is doing an advent calendar this year. Two years ago someone made a thread about it, and it really interested me! So I decided to pick some out last year and continue the tradition this year.

I'm kind of boring and did the same ones I did last year. It's a hot chocolate advent and a marshmallow one. I only did the first day so far. The marshmallow was chai. The flavor was sweet, but a different kind of sweet. Hard to explain. Sort of almost like someone sprinkled a dash of pure cinnamon on it. It wasn't bad!

The hot chocolate was salted caramel. It was also good! But I prepared it a little off so tonight I will do better.

So who does or is doing one this year? And what kind did you get?

I'm actually thinking of getting a Harry Potter one but I'm broke

Nope. The last two years we did get some for my cats; we got them a treats one and toy one last year (we got them late so I gave the treaties whenever and all the toys all at once). The previous year there was a nice fancy feast one that I was hoping to find last year and this year but I haven’t seen it. It had canned food and treats in it; my girls loved this one.

I like advent calendars but they're so overpriced, so I don't know if I'll get one this year. Sometimes my mom sends me one, I hope she does again, they're always so random and funny. She sent me the knock off pokemon figure one I had last year.

There's a pokemon one???

Yesterday was dark chocolate and I prepared it a lot better. I also didn't use as much milk and it really brought the flavor out. All the chocolate flakes melted perfectly. The marshmallow was pumpkin spice and I really could taste the flavor! It wasn't bad, but the marshmallow was a little wet. I'm not sure if that was intentional.

Will try today's later tonight!

They really are! It's why I never did them before, but doing them with my sister has made them a lot of fun and memorable. So even though the price can sting I love those memories with her.

Your knock-off Pokemon calendar was so charming in its own way. At least to me hehe. And the official one was great!

I didn't know there were advents for cats! I've seen ones for dogs, but whenever I looked I couldn't really find any specifically for cats. That's great to know they exist! Maybe next year I'll see if I can find one early enough.

I usually get a Cadburys advent calendar from whichever shop has them in. It's not all that exciting, and the number placement doesn't vary at all from year to year so it's pretty predictable, but the chocolate's nice so I still get them lol

No, I haven’t found one that feels worth the price. Every advent calendar I’ve looked at seems overpriced for what you get so it just feels like a money grab.

They can be a bit pricey but I still like them. This year for Aurora a bought a box I could decorate and fill myself to use for an advent calendar instead of buying a premade one. It was cheaper that way. Me and my mom like working on puzzles together so we got a puzzle advent calendar. I also got us both a corgi advent calendar.

My parents got me a Lindt one at 50% off yesterday, still expensive at 15€ though. But I guess it's also 24 pieces of chocolate...

So I haven't kept up with posting on here, but I had a coffee marshmallow and it was so nasty. I don't know how else to describe it, but it tasted and smelled like old coffee that was sitting out. Like someone had it on their dashboard, half drank, and put their cigarette butts in it.

I thought maybe I was overreacting, but I gave a piece to my coffee loving sister and she spat it out right away lol!

My parents sent me a Lindt advent calendar in the post. I'm terrible at remembering to keep up with it. 😅

I have two. I get the Lindt advent calender's. and for the last three years I've been wanting to do a seprate one that isn't candy. The year before last was a book lovers themed one. Last year was a DnD themed one. and this year, fidgets. I'm trying to think of what I want for next year, maybe a different fidget calender, or something different. I'm trying to keep the advent calenders under a certain price when I get them. I'm not going to spend more then 30-35 dollars on one.

Sadly no:

  1. My parents really never bothered with it.
  2. I never really asked...
But that's fine, as I had other fun means to count down to Christmas, such as (My idea) to craft a Santa head/Snowman and use cotton to rip off as each day till' the 25th rolls by.

Only Adventure calendars I do are Neopets and the one the forum has. This year was the very first time where I didn’t miss any dates.

if i were to ever get an advent calendar, i would NOT be patient enough to open one each day😭😭
i'd probably follow it for maybe three days and then give up and open all of them out of frustration

I used to do Advent Calendars.
Until my little brothers were born.

Here's how it would go:
I would get an Advent Calender. Awesome.
I take it home, and catch some z's. Awesome.
I wake up, and I see my brothers helping themselves to the chocolate and candy that was in it. Heck darn.
