Do you care about your island's rating?

No, it doesn't matter too me, once I got the golden watering can DIY I was fine with my island going back to 4 stars.

At the moment my island is pretty new, but even when I get to the point of having five stars, I don't really mind if I have it or not. I don't believe my mom cares either, lol. xD

The point at which I planted quite a few shrubs which massively improved the appearance of my island, but saw my rating drop to 4 stars because I have too many trees, is the point I stopped caring about the rating.

Making my island look better matters far more than the outcome of an algorithm which can't possibly factor in aesthetics.

I care about the island rating a lot. I lived for one month with no flowers because I hate flowers, but I had to overcome my hatred for vegetation bc I hate not having 5 star rating more. so I planted the minimum nr of flowers, behind houses and such so I don't see them on my daily walks.

My island theme is a tropical resort. It feels natural to aim at a 5 star. My vision already got 5 stars, only needed flowers there. i can deal with that

I don't really care to have the rating, I just wanted the recipe to check off on my DIY list, but at one point in the constant tearing down/rebuilding of my island I decided to check with Isabelle and I had gotten it somehow, but I didnt wanna wait/ TT for the jacobs ladder so I just went back to tearing apart my island and lost the rating within the hour, can always trade for those if I really wanted them :3c

The only reason I'd care is if I'm trying to get the lily if the valley flowers. Besides that, it doesn't mean much to me at all! Right now I'm trying to get the flowers though and it's not really the best if fun trying to maintain the 5 star rating for it. But once I get enough, I'll be happy to slip back to my 4 stars haha

I do make a conscious effort to maintain 5 stars by removing DIYs off of my floor.

Not really bothered about the golden watering can or lily of the valley, and I plant weeds everywhere, I'm not even sure what rating my town is but it's definitely not 5 stars hahaha

I care somewhat, only because it been super easy keeping my 5-star rating despite the amount of clutter and weeds there are on my island, so I might as well try to keep it.

When I first started I thought you had to get 5 stars for KK to visit but since it's only 3 it doesn't matter as much now

Not anymore. I threw random furniture everywhere to get the golden watering can and a handful of flowers, now the only reason I still have it is that I don't have the storage space for all those items xD I'll probably keep it like this until I create my last two characters so they can have watering cans too.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but why do you care about the rating?

If you think your island looks better with no flowers, then having no flowers makes your island better. And that's coming from someone who has flowers EVERYWHERE!



Isabelle's rating is just based on an algorithm - the game has no ability to take into account aesthetic considerations or personal design choices.

Nobody who visits will even know what rating your island has, will they?

I don't know. I've been stuck at 5-star for awhile. I care to a degree where I don't leave furniture/clothing/diy/weeds on my ground so the rating won't drop. If I did find out it dropped to 4-star, I wouldn't be distraught or anything. At least I'd get a break from all the jacob ladders.

Yeah, they're kind of a pain.

I don't really use them on my island, so they just sit at the top of one of my cliffs because I feel like I should keep them!

I was eager to just get 3 just so I could get KK Slider and terraforming. Since then I haven't checked but I have made more improvements but only for myself so I'm ok with whatever star I'm at currently

I mean, not really as I have my golden watering can recipe and Jacob's Ladders flowers, but at the same time, it's nice to have a 5 star Island! It did drop down to 4 recently but I somehow managed to bump it back up.

I do, it kinda feels like the point of the game. At least it's a guidance to have everything on your island.

No not really, like yeah it's good to have a 5-star island for the lily of the valleys but I won't go out of my way to have a 5-star island just for that, I mean it'll just be 5-star eventually anyways once you're progressing with your island...
