Do you believe in fortune telling/palm reading/predicting the future?

I was just curious.

I was at the mall the other day with my boyfriend and there was a new pagoda for palm reading. The women were really sweet and kept saying I could have a free reading of my future/present to "dispel my anxiety and overwhelming sadness," but Tyler kind of pulled me along since I have a habit of being an easy target for vendors because I get too shy to refuse. I politely declined, but man... A part of me wanted the reading. "How did she know I was sad?" I asked, as we stood in line for coffee. "Baby, you look like you're anxious. Like, nervousy all the time. And sometimes, your eyes are so sad. She saw that and probably said whatever she thought you wanted to hear..."

She did say what I wanted to hear, lol.
It worked. I really wanted her to look at my dumb hand and tell me things were going to get better, that I was going to be okay. But a part of me was scared it would just be a bunch of crap or I would hear stuff I didn't want to hear.

I don't know. I was just thinking about that.
I worry a lot about my future because of how things are in my head/life and it would've been of such great comfort to hear some good for a change.

Have you ever had your palm read before or your future predicted or so on?
Was it a "professional?" Do you know anyone with those kind of gifts?
I've always been interested and fascinated in the whole deal.

Nope, you know those stupid notes that people post like ''If you don't repost this you will die and if you do you'll get love'' or something idiotic?Well I use to believe in those and then, one day I didn't reblog it and I'm still alive.

Nope.
A Hindu priest once told me that I will be a nurse when I'm older.

NICE TRY SIR BUT HAVE YOU SEEN ME.

It also doesn't help that my religion strongly believes in that sort of stuff.

"[...] She saw that and probably said whatever she thought you wanted to hear..."
This is how these things work. At least if people want to make money.

And then there was this one woman I knew who refused to tell people their future if she felt they weren't absolutely ready for that knowledge. No idea if it really worked, but she was a lot more convincing than any other fortune tellers I've met.

I think it's a lie.
The only thing questionable and possibly true is dreams and people seeing the future in them.

No. I think that some people are naturally more intuitive than others when it comes to reading body language/mood/etc., but "psychics" just spew generalizations that would apply to almost anyone and wait until they get something correct. They're merely scam artists with cool props.

On another note, it's very easy to learn their ways!

No, I don't believe in it, but I think it's certainly interesting that people do that sort of thing I suppose.

This is the only fortune teller you can trust in.

Yes and no..
I think it depends on the person giving you the reading.
Some people can clearly read into you and tell you obvious things and get you to tell them more and trick you.
There is only so much you can know anyway.. And you still have the ability to change and adjust your future.

Some people I think do have a gift for it.. But maybe I am biased.
Then again I do believe in ghosts and supernatural and all the jazz..

My mother, grandmother and sister could all read people. They refused to teach me though.
They mostly read people's coffee and tea cups.. My grandmother could read 'fortunes' from just about anything though..

Maybe it's only real if you believe in it though.

I honestly have no idea. When I was younger, I was really interested in both, and I actually am able to read someone's palm. But that may not necessarily mean it's real, it just means that for certain people in certian periods of time, the lines of your palm meant something. I read a young man's palm once, and confirmed a few things a previous fortune teller told him, (The fortune teller before did NOT read his palm). And I am an avid tarot card reader. Granted, I read the cards less then I used to. But I do read them, and...I'm uncertain about that, too. My personal deck has never steered me wrong. There have been times when I haven't believed what they told me, because the truth seemed...too sad, but what the cards say always seems to pass. If you're ever curious, I'd be glad to do a tarot card reading for you.

I'm not really sure whether or not the readings of either palms or tarot cards is real. But sometimes, it can give you peace of mind. So, I understand the curiosity, and I continue to read the cards.

No I think it's BS
But I do believe in people who can communicate with spirits/dead people

Astrology and fortune telling are both shams to me. They give you vague answers that could fit anyone and give cryptic answers so you can interpret it with your own experiences. If going to people like that makes people feel better, I think it's okay with me, but I don't believe in supernatural stuff myself.

Lies. Lies. All lies. It's interesting, and I like it, I just think its fake. Its just interesting to see what they say.

Not anymore, but...

I used to. In fact, when I was in middle school and early years of high school, I used to try to use my deck of Clow Cards to predict things. I was such a nerd.

Nope :o I don't think they're real... but sometimes it kinda makes you think twice that it is when what they say actually comes true or something.
