Do you also get frustrated when island hopping?

There's 400+ villagers in the game and with RNG, I never trust it. I prep with at least 50 tickets before island hopping so there's a higher chance I won't be disappointed. It's a numbers game to me so the more I prepare, the better my odds

Not frustrated but sleepy. Very very sleepy. If I try to do more than 20 in one sitting, my eyes will drop. I tried and it messed up my sleeping schedule because I would visit ~20 islands, nap, visit ~20 islands, nap, visit ~20 islands, nap and repeat. I’m glad i’m kind of done with it.

When the intellectual picks up Animal Crossing and datamines the crap out of everything.

In all seriousness im big nonintellectual so I dont understand the 50 tickets 4 better chance.

All I understand is the word disappointed, I feel this every time I see an ugly poop show up

Hahahaha yeah I get that. That's why I prepare though. Because luck sucks and I don't want to be forced to pick up someone ugly when I run out of NMT. Hopefully with more tickets, it'll get me someone decent because there's no way I'm letting the plot be autofilled hahaha

I actually get excited at the prospect of island hopping whenever I have an empty lot on my island!

Usually I find a villager I want to invite fairly quickly, after spending 10 or fewer tickets. It may be that's because I don't rule out any species or personality.

Not particularly, I’m never looking for anyone in particular and I’ve come across some pretty good ones while doing so. I can usually find at least one I want to keep off of 10 tickets.

I find it pretty enjoyable, but only because I never go into animal crossing games with a full preset list of villagers. I enjoy the thrill of not knowing who you’ll find, but I’ll also be the first to admit I’ve had pretty good luck villager wise. I can totally see how having specific wants that seem pretty broad (like just any wolf) and not even having those met would be super annoying and frustrating. I think my lack of planning abilities are probably the main reason I enjoy the feature lol

Yes and no. It can be frustrating seeing duplicate villagers, but I really like seeing who I run into. It's always when I'm looking for someone in particular where it really gets to me seeing the same 3 villagers over again.

It is lots of fun when you first start, but after doing it for a full day and running out of tickets without inviting anyone, it does make me annoyed. Just make sure to make the most of your trips by gathering resources and looking for the hidden furniture and massage bottles. It doesnt feel like a total waste that way, for me at least.

I haven't gotten frustrated with it, mostly just tired after long sessions. I'm still hunting for Lucky (or Judy or Raymond), and it has been around 900 tickets. During that time though, I have found 8 other dreamies, so it has been worth it. Island hopping for villagers is a pretty fun slot machine, and I doubt I'll get tired of it soon.

Villager hunting burnout is real 😩 Usually I just run to check who the villager is and then leave without doing anything on the NM Island before flying to the next one

I completely understand. It took me about 185 NMT and 6 hours of time to finally find Aurora on a mystery island. Although I have to admit, it kind of felt rewarding when I finally found her, and I did gasp very loudly, haha.

I don't understand this. There's 400+ villagers. With 30 tickets, you don't have the best odds to find a specific villager. Even in this case where you were after only one species, which technically makes the process easier as the game rolls for species first, and as we have less species than villagers, you have decent chances to find wolves, but not necessarily the ones you want.

I hate island hopping so so so much lol. I've been trying to find Kiki thru NMT and its been hell. Not even bothering doing the campsite trick since there is such a big pool of normal villagers and i already have a normal :(
It's hard for cats as well since when rolling species first, cats have one of the highest amount of villagers which makes finding any specific cat villagers really tough

Specific cats, rabbits and dog villagers are literally so hard to get. Having to RNG that specific species and then that particular villager is hell. Last time I tried looking for Genji with 145 tickets and never found him. The only reason I have him is because of a very kind user on this forum ;__; I really hope you get Kiki soon!

It's like gambling sorta, the jackpot is the villager you want and the pay is the time spent for getting the NMT, it's sorta like gambling, you have your set odds and you gotta pay to play, and when you lose money, you probably will get mad, sad, etc... You gotta go into it with a mindset that its ok to lose and isn't the end of the world :)
