The title says it all. We know that we can buy a posters from the Nook catalog once you have invited villagers at Harv's Island. I'm not talking about that, but real portrait in their little frame like in New Leaf. We know those exists because of dataminers, but I have not seen someone yet telling us they have got a villager handing them a portrait of themselves.
Do we have confirmation villagers give you their portrait in NH ?

Some villagers have portraits of other villagers in their homes and there are plenty of people on the forum who have gotten the portraits as well!

I have villager BFF pictures so it is in game for sure. I got it from giving them presents (non-native fruits and doorplates) every day.

UGH yeah they're in the game. Anyone know how to achieve best friend status with them though? I talk to dom every single day, send him letters, and gift him something every day, and still nothing.
there's actually a nook miles achievement for that. if you haven't already had 3 best friend villagers in the past you'll be immediately notified via the nook miles app when he becomes your best friend and you'll earn some miles for it. usually it happens after you complete a quest for them or gift them things, I gifted my villagers crap every day and 3 of them became my best friends by accident so just shower them with attention honestly lol

Also: I noticed that certain villagers get best friends with your easier than others. Marina (Normal) and Mac (Jock) gave me their portraits the earliest despite I didn’t handle them differently from the others.
