Do Villagers take their furniture with them?

I was wondering if someone knew the answer to this. I adopted someone's villager (It was one of their first initial 3 that move-in) so their houses are just filled with the usual basic set up. Is this going to be the case when they move into my island? Or are they going to have all brand new furniture?

I know when my villagers leave they always leave a couple of their furniture items in the recycling bin. However, I am not sure if they will have those items in their house if someone takes them, because no one has adopted one of my villagers yet.

I adopted Puddles from someone who had her as an early move in (with the basic house set up) and her house in my town is completely different. So, no, they don't keep their basic house when they move.
