Do villagers not send moving letters anymore?

I've just had my first villager move out and I never got a moving letter (I moved her out by replacing her with someone at the campsite, not amiibo, if that means anything).
Ill be kind of sad if they dont send them anymore cause I like to keep and store them just so I can have a look at all the villagers I had. I did this in New Leaf and it was nice to see all the villagers I had and remember where they lived and stuff

no, unfortunately they don't send moving out letters out. i was really disappointed when dom moved out and he didn't even write me a letter. i thought it was because i didn't say goodbye to him, but even the next few villagers that left didn't leave a goodbye letter even if i talked to them while they were in boxes.

It doesn't seem so, which is a shame. I would've loved to be able to favorite and keep goodbye letters.

They dont. I started a topic on this a while ago, and people claimed you have to have a "high friendship level with them". In my experience, thats not true. still no letter. Very bizarre move on nintendos part.

First mover and got no letter. Check the residential building box inside. The items I crafted and gave Kody were in the box.

Thanks for the replies all, thats really disappointing to hear. It's strange that Nintendo decided to remove something like this that has been in all the previous games. Not like it would be such a difficult thing to program in...

Unfortunatly I hope they bring this back in the future, I have to keep some villagers because of this so I can get their picture. Its sad to hear that they wont send letters.

i really miss the goodbye letters - when my first villager moved out, i just thought that maybe my friendship with them wasn’t high enough, but it seems that the goodbye letters just aren’t a thing anymore ;u;
