Do Villagers Give More Warning Time Before Moving Out?

So yesterday, I was pinged by Kabuki, asking to move.
The date on my town was set to the 3rd, and Kabuki said he was moving out on the 13th.
Now, I've played since launch waaay back in June 2013, and not once have I had earlier than 5 days warning.

Do we know if this is part of the update? Or is it a mistake? or have I just not paid attention for 3 years?

Yep, since the update, villagers now give a ten day warning for when they'll move instead of just five.

Can confirm, I've had two pings and the 10-day delay seriously confused me at first!!

I've seen posts from others on Tumblr confirming this! It was recently updated in the new update.The move-out period has been extended from the original 5 days to 10 days, so if you're looking to keep your dreamies, it gives you more time to ensure they stay. Or if you're trying to cycle out people, it can be a burden....

Also another confirmation here! I was trying to give away Goldie who had just pinged me, and time travel took forever. I wanted to be cautious, it really threw me off.
