I feel like I just pulled a prize out of a cereal box.
Yeah...so, I definitely expected the great white model to be a little bit smaller than the shark is when you pull it out of the water. Like...maybe 65% that size. What I got was maybe a quarter of that size...and I feel cheated. Lol. I really wanted to put this out in the front of my tiki bar (which I'm still doing)...but, it just doesn't fit the look I wanted. It's puny. Hahaha. Why do you think they made some models huge (see the banded dragonfly or some of the butterflies), but they make something as imposing as the great white so tiny? It's really frustrating, tbh. This thing should be three plots wide, not two.
Yeah.. Fish models have been disappointing for the most part. My best advice is go off whether you like the design, rather than the size of the fish. So far my favorites are the Betta & Seahorse C:
Any of the larger fish end up tiny for their models, which I agree is a bummer. I don't use my coelacanth, marlin, or oarfish models but my models of smaller fish- barrel eye and squid, look pretty cool. Overall, the insect models work much better as vibey decoration than the fish models.
Yeah the size of the fish models is a bit disappointing......but we need to remember the creator of these models is Flick, not CJ.
So emmmm yeah, you could definitely see the difference in passion.
Maybe actually the fish models are the normal size, but since Flick really love bugs, he give extra passion on bug models.
I understand the frustration...but I also think this side of Flick is quite cute, and with CJ try to promote too. They are cute.
Really? Even the sharks are disappointing and awful? I'm so bummed. I love my oversized bug models; I was so deeply hoping that he'd offer at least one fish model that was also larger. The sharks are my favorite.
Honestly...what they should have done was scale the same model into three different sizes. Just like Sahara and her three sizes of rugs...CJ/Flick could have accepted 1 specimen for a small model, two for a medium, and three for a large one.
I actually like the smaller fish models a lot.
I have the seahorse and the goldfish so far (also the frog since it's considered a fish in-game), and today, I commissioned the Ranchu goldfish which is one of my favorite breeds of goldfish.
I'm still considering commissioning a shark piece just to keep it out on my dock next to my "Jaws" movie signpost but I think that's the only large fish that I'd get as a model.
yeah, I learned that the hard way after donating my 3 blue marlins. I thought I was going to get the mounted version of it, but turns out that's actually an item they sell at nook's. Was also disappointed in the size.
I figured it would be like that since I saw the Oarfish model at my friend's place. I kinda wish it would be a little bigger for outside? But if it is that small maybe it would make a cool underwater room decor?
Then have you seen that R. Brookwing model? It's so huge o.o Imagine if you put them side by side lol, a butterfly will be larger than a shark...
