Green Star Fragment
I recently invested in a Apple Pencil knockoff that works with my iPad and downloaded a drawing app. I’ve always wanted to draw (and have been drawing, granted, I’m not the best), ever since I was a kid. I want to get Procreate, but I’m debating! Here is an extremely rough sketch I started of Vox, from Hazbin Hotel. I was just wondering if anyone has any other digital art app recommendations for me!

I haven't really tried out digital art apps since I mainly use my pc for digital art, but I have heard some great things about Ibis Paint. There are ads and some brushes you have to watch an ad to get it for free temporarily, but that's really the only negative thing I've heard about it.

When I started out I used adobe paint, it’s a bit more beginner friendly if you’re still getting used to layers/tools. Currently I use Ibis paint which I find to be a lot smoother and easier for experienced artists.

I have MediBang downloaded on my iPad, and it’s a great drawing app considering the main features are free. I had a Photoshop Lite-type app on my laptop when I was using a drawing tablet, and MediBang basically has all of the same main features. 10/10 would recommend you try it out!

I started off with sketchbook cause I’m broke, but I recently bought procreate and it’s rly good! There’s a lot of different brushes and I think it’s definitely worth the price ^^

I installed that app and MediBang at the same time and I have to say I gravitated more towards SketchBook since it seems more intuitive and user friendly. They both have a terrible bucket fill though (since it kinda looks like you used it) it leaves a very small white border that drives me crazy, needles to say I don't use that function as much. If you do get procreate though I recommend you look at tutorials since that app is not intuitive at all, it's easy to learn and get a hang of, but like I said, it's not intuitive imo (although, it has the best bucket fill function and a huge variety of brushes compared to the other two... but I guess it's because it's a paid service in comparison to SketchBook).

I only draw on pc, but I know that Medibang has an app (I use Medibang on pc and it's my personal fav when it comes to free graphic programs), so I recommend it highly, especially since I heard a lot of good things about it 😊

I can't really say anything since I don't own an iPad but I would choose Procreate. I have an android and use ArtFlow for my work. The app is really smooth for my old tablet which is great! I got the full version unlocked for only $6 as they had a sale.

im not an artist myself but i've commissioned a ton of artists and a good number of em use medibang and their art piece look so good! as for procreate, im not sure about the numbers.

No l don't on tablet but l do on PC. Just wondering do you need a certain tablet to use a good digital art app?

I use procreate for my professional work so yea it's definitely top tier (I recommend it)

I use Procreate for most of my illustrations but depending on the look I'm going for/effects I know I want to utilize, I'll use Adobe Fresco or Photoshop. I love Fresco for the live watercolour brushes especially, but Procreate is just so user friendly!

My gf uses procreate, and from what little I've tried of it I gotta say it felt great to use. I'll second the procreate recommendations of the others.

i barley do art anymore but i loooove procreate like everyone else here. i used to use procreate on my old ipad but now i just use my phone, i don’t use a stylus and just use my finger. i also heard that ibs paint is good, i have only used it a few times because i never got comfortable with it. procreate is definitely worth it for the $10 price, it’s too bad that it’s only available for ios devices because i’d love have it on my pc.

I don't personally have an iPad so I can't speak from personal experience, but my illustrator friends really really like Procreate.

I draw on my computer and I have FireAlpaca (same company that makes MediBang if I remember correctly). It's a bit limited but it does the job for me.

if you have an iPad I would definitely recommend Procreate since I've heard a lot of good things about it. I personally have a regular android tablet so I use Medibang, it works really well too so I would also recommend that.

I also highly recommend procreate! When I got my ipad it immediately became my main program to use, and I barely touch my wacom tablet anymore (even tho I should skdfk). Using an ipad is just so much more convenient though because of how easy the setup is compared to my old tablet. I do all my RLC commissions with procreate and I have very little to complain about. If you have the money and haven't decided yet, you should definitely go for it!
