Different village options at start of game?

I'm reading that you can select between different options such as 'desert island' or 'mountains' but not sure if I'm understanding properly - is this talking about the permanent town I'll be living in? And let's see some pics of the different options, please? Thank you

This is the sort of choice you get. Your choices will be a little different, as they are randomly generated (you can quit the game and reload for a new set of four), but they all fill the same criteria. No choice of "desert island" or "mountains" to speak of.
