this might sound silly (and impossible) but I could SWEAR that all my villagers of the cranky personality are being different from each other!

- Bruce (one of my original, oldest and friendliest) just LOVES to gossip and visit my house/invite me to his house A LOT
- Lobo is ALWAYS missing! he seems to love the mainstreet a lot and whenever I finally find him, he never says anything interesting...
- Chief is a big troll! he keeps giving me impossible tasks at the worst times XD
- Wolfgang is very unpredictable, on a day he never gives me a task and never says anything useful and on the next day he pummels me with hard tasks and mentions people I've never met! he made me raise my brows more than once...
- Fang seems to be the most normal of the bunch! and I noticed he built a relationship with skye! he invited her to his house twice, gave her a present (through me lol) and borrowed her catchphrase "airmail". it's obvious :P

so, ever felt that your villagers of the same personality type are being different from each other? or is it just me? :)

There's always (to me) a slight change in how villagers of same personality will speak to you depending on your friendship level with them :>

maybe it's true, wolfgang was once an original resident in my town and was always so nice, but when Chief moved in he was kind of rude and said things wolfgang never said to me...

That is how Grizzly was when he first moved in. He wouldn't talk to me about anything important much, send me on impossible tasks (like the dang scorpions and tarantulas and COELACANTHS) but little by little he warmed up to me. It got to the point he would ALWAYS come over, especially while I was redecorating >___>

I heard that sometimes villagers would "surprise" visit you while you're inside your house, but I'm not sure if it's true or not. is this what happened to you?

That's most definitely true. I can't tell you how many times I would be in my basement or another room and a villager would come in and be like "HEY IM HERE COME ON OUT" then when I stayed in the other room, they say creepy things lmao like "ARE YOU HOME?" "I COULD HAVE SWORN YOU WERE HOME"

Which just shows me that if I'm home and possibly sleeping, my villagers will barge in because I never lock my door apparently.

must be on a really high relationship, I believe Bruce is getting there! he seems to really like visiting my house and stuff. I find it weird because I barely write letters to him but I talk to him almost everyday maybe that was enough to build a higher relationship?

I found that roughly around the same time they can give you their picture, they will start visiting you out of the blue.

Tammi has visited me unexpectedly like 4 times, and Samson has visited me twice. So it must be friendship based.

They are original townies, so it doesn't surprise me they are my highest friendship.

I can't tell you how many times Deena has barged into my house and yelled "hey Leela! Come out and PLAAAAAAAY!" Once she walked in, gave me a trash can (it reminded her of me, apparently) and she immediately left.

Basically what Loviechu said, depending on what friendship level you're at with a villager, they'll talk to you in a certain way if you're on a specific level. Such as level 1, they'll talk to you normally like their normal personality. :D Cranky's especially you see an improvement in their attitude when you befriend them. :lemon:

I don't know if it's just my experience, but I've found that Crankies always warm up to me faster than other personalities (sending letters declaring friendship, giving gifts etc). Big sweethearts! :)

I've noticed slight changes, but I think it's just based on different friendship levels and getting some lines that are different from the ones you got when you were in a certain friendship stage with that villager. For example, I have two peppies, and one of them seems so much nicer and less annoying, but it's probably because I've talked to her more.
