Did you have any "dreamies" before joining online communities?

Even back in City Folk I wanted cats and wolves. Lucky also seemed really cool. I am lucky nowadays to be close to accomplishing my own ideal (birds, cats, wolves, eagles heck yes).

Although, I wanted most of them to fulfill a themed town idea I had.

I didn't know the term, but I had a vague sense of... Wanting. I had started researching villagers and such, and then when I found this site, welp.

It was over for me.
And now I have a list of like 30 dreamies. Goodbye world. :') (At least I have like half of them!!)

I looked up all the villagers before getting the game...so I pretty much had all my "wanted" villagers decided before joining any AC sites. Some were from previous games (apollo, bill,...), some were from just seeing their design/species (all the octopi/ankha), and some were from seeing them in the game while running a cycling thread (katt, genji, kabuki, wendy,..), and Punchy was just really because he's like a memento to the black/white kitty I had that passed this year.

I've never played any ac games prior to new leaf, so...no. But then stitches moved in my previous town and I was like "wow he's adorable!". That's when I went online and started searching for all the villagers. Then when I joined this forum and began hunting for dreamies just like everyone else lol

When I first got ACNL, I wasn't entirely sure what dreamies were. I just went with the flow.
I never got any of the popular villagers luckily with my old town.

Then I started to learn about other villagers and googling names.
My first two dreamies were Tiffany and Olivia.. then Merengue then Genji then Snake.
When I first joined around November of last year. I do miss them, honestly.

When I played CF I used the guide to make a list of "dreamies" but I wasn't able to attain them all til NL.

Nope. I didn't know what dreamies were back then.
I also do not like any of my starter villagers in NL

Nope, I never thought about it. Until I joined TBT, I kinda felt like I needed dreamies @-@ (Although I did want Marshal but he wasn't a dreamie until I joined).

Stitches was my favorite villager back in WW, and I always hoped I'd find him again in New Leaf. I wouldn't say he was my "dreamie," because I had no idea what that even meant. But I wanted to find him and claim him and be his best buddy again. <3 I didn't have high hopes though.
Then I found out about villager trading, and I realized there was actually a chance I could get him! I had hope!
But then I found out how ridiculously popular and expensive he is. So there's no hope now. The hope is gone.

And of course when I joined tbt my dreamie list grew, but I guess he was my first dreamie. c:

I looked at all the villagers online before I got my ACNL.
While looking I already knew about a few villagers which I REALLY wanted to have in my game (Pietro, Bruce and Coco).

No idea, as this is my first AC game.

Chance upon this forum while searching for a forum and gets to know all these.

And by accident, while thinking i can TT the 8th villagers out, start to know i can TT and choose my 9th villagers.

That's where i start searching who i want . But its a very long and tedious process......

I didn't investigate on all the villager types beforehand, so I didn't know about it too much.
And then when I joined TBT, I saw the VTP and mentions of Julian, the sparkling unicorn, Marshal the cute fluffy marshmallow squirrel, Merengue the shortcake rhino and thus, Dreamies complete now :I

Exactly! I had no idea people sell or auction off villagers. The idea still kind of surprises me. I just hope to get them through the campsite or villagers moving away.
