Did you have any "dreamies" before joining online communities?

and Marshal also moved into my town at random and I didn't think I was going to like him but now I just adore him and would never let him move and he's been dubbed with the "achieved dreamie" status because of that

I only had one: Kiki and later on I decided to get Ribbot as well.

I still don't really have dreamies: I have four villagers (Kiki, Ribbot, Skye, Blanche) I'm definitely keeping forever and I have 8 more to cycle for Kyle and then I want him back. Other than that, I have a lot of villagers I want to have in my town to get their pictures and just hang out with for awhile but not keep forever.

I had dreamies in every ac game, I'm not sure if this was the first game you could actually invite them to your town? I certainly did know for every game who I would love to move in though

No, I had never played Animal Crossing before and I hadn't read that much about it. I wanted a DS XL and the game I wanted was out of stock (and Pok?mon X wasn't out yet) so I ended up choosing another game based on the reviews (which didn't tell me a whole lot, but the game seemed interesting, so I thought 'Why not?'). When I first played the game I had no idea how things worked (I remember how surprised I was to find a new plot and wondering who would move in, as well as how many more villagers would move into my town). It's only when I began searching for more information (like; what am I supposed to do and how exactly does this game work?) that I found this community and came across the concept of dreamies. I don't have any real dreamies, other than the fact that I want only one of each species in my town, that's all. ^-^

No, because I never played online, so at first I didn't even know you could get them from other people and stuff, and didn't know a lot of the villagers.

I've been playing for a while but just got into the community. It was really interesting to see different villagers' popularity. I've had Julian for forever and always loved him (he's fabulous so what's not to love?). I then had Rosie move in randomly. I wasn't a huge fan of her at first, but now she's my mayor's BFF!

No. I had no idea what dreamies were before joining this forum and one other.

ACNL is my first animal crossing game so I had no idea what I was in for. I got this game because I saw so many friends talking about it so I gave it a try.
I remember looking at a picture list of all the villagers and seeing some I favored over others, but not anyone I had to have. I found Lucky, Lolly and Stitches in my campsite before I joined the online community and took them in because I thought they were cute. ^_^ Diana I found on tumblr and Marshal was a giveaway when I was new. Muffy was in my husbands town and I fell in love with her too.

I suppose the villagers I have could be considered dreamies now since I can't imagine not having them. I will also likely want them in any future AC games.

I've been a part of online AC communities since 2011, long before New Leaf came out. I do think that these more intense "abstract" goals like obtaining dream neighbors, creating themed towns, etc. (in contrast to simple goals the game presents, like paying off loans) tend to be more sought after by people who are a part of online communities. If you're just playing casually on your own, it might seem silly to put in so much work when it's not going to be recognized by anyone but yourself?

Before I knew that dream villagers were even a thing and that it was possible to transfer villagers, I knew that I at least wanted Phoebe in my town because my friend was fortunate enough to have her as a neighbor. LO AND BEHOLD NOW I HAVE PHOEBE AND IT'S ALL THANKS TO THE MAGICAL WORLD OF VILLAGER TRADING

Nope. The only villagers I was interested in before joining the community were Aurora and Bob, just because they were in my Gamecube town.

Yes I did. I wanted Biskit, Mitzi, and Rosie because I had them in my previous games a lot.

I only looked up what villagers there were once Pietro moved into my town with his crazy neon house and I was like "WHAT, I thought these were supposed to be animals not clowns" ..after I saw all of the villagers you could get I just really wanted birds and ducks to move into my town, hah.

No, I'd settle for any of my favorite Villagers. And believe me, I have a LOT of favorite Villagers... But after joining TBT and seeing everyone's Dreamies, I decided I'd try to narrow it down.

The funny thing is I didn't know villager can be change/move out so the first time on train to ACNL, I got a good map with my favourite perfect peaches but ALL THE UGLY VILLAGERS! then I quit and reset map again lol~ although now I don't remember exactly how it look but I know I love it at the first sight just because of those villagers xD how silly!
