Rizzo pretty much became an instant favorite when he moved into my City Folk town years ago, and is my second favorite villager overall. Apparently he is widely considered to be an ugly villager, but I never once thought of him as such. The bright side to him being such an unpopular villager though was that his Amiibo card was dirt cheap when I bought it for my New Horizon's town at launch! When I started a new town on my secondary system, I decided I didn't want any villager doubles and would instead just sort of let my villagers come and go as they pleased, but I ended up finding Rizzo on a Miles Island when trying to fill up my initial houses and just had to take him.
Did you ever end up liking the ugly/hated villager?

Yup! She's the cutest popstar on my island!
to be honest, there’s very few villagers that i actually hate but back in new leaf, pietro was one of them. i’m not sure what my problem with him was but i swore that if he were to ever move into my town, i’d reset immediately. younger me can suck it, though, since we’re best buds now. :’)
Quillson is one of my favourites although I know he's not very popular.
I really like limberg and I know he's hated.
Moose is unpopular too and I'm planning on adding him to my island next.
I think the unpopular villagers are fun.
Its the cute villagers I like the least.
But the only villagers I would never want to give a shot to are molly, Bob, and the female kangaroos.
In new leaf I had rocket and she was alright.
Not my favourite by a long shot but not actively disliked. She was just kinda there.
I love that amiibo are a thing and that I can instantly get any villager (apart from 8) on to my island whenever I feel like it.
However a part of me does miss experiencing random move ins purely so I could meet all kinds, even tipper.
Perhaps I should try adding those im not super into via amiibo instead of those I like already.

I had Vladimir as my campsite villager that I had to move in when I first started my island... I thought I was going to hate him, but I ended up thinking he was really cute. He didn't end up staying long though, because I had my list of villagers that I really wanted.
Back in New Leaf, I had Boots on my island for the longest time. I thought he was absolutely adorable, but I also have a big soft spot for the alligators. He lived in my town for probably close to a year before I finally moved him out. The fact that he's a jock didn't even stop me from being obsessed with him.
