Did my save file get corrupted?

I was playing Animal Crossing this afternoon just fine. I was in the doctors office waiting to be called in, when I was I quickly saved and turned the 3DS off. When I start up the game this evening it asks to install updates and when it finally starts there is no Continue option on the menu.

Did my save file get corrupted, and is there any way to recover my town? I thought corrupted files could only occur in digital copies of the game.

anyway , back on topic , i wouldn't know because i don't have a digital copy nor i never got corrupted .

if it has no files or anything , possibly corrupted , the only way is to restart , sorry to say .

No. Different villagers are walking around. This is rather frustrating I love all my villagers I've managed to get.

Well, when mine corrupted, it said that the data couldn't be read or something and you had the option to delete the save data. I believe the text was in red.

Once again thank you very much for the Bells and Chrissy. I loved seeing Muffy in your town to, I'm going to rather miss her. But, I never had a bunny villager so getting Chrissy should be fun.
