ehhhh if i didnt have a 3ds i wouldnt get one because i prefer being able to fold it up so
its nice for children and people who just want to play pokemon i guess
People need to remember that the 2DS is meant as more of a sturdy alternative to the 3DS. Its meant for younger kids that tend to break stuff. This is cheaper, lighter, and cant be bent in the wrong direction. It is great that Nintendo is making something sturdy compared to so many companies that give us cheaply made crap because they want it to break so we'll buy a new one.
Just because you don't want to use it is no reason to snub it. It is a good idea and it is useful for younger kids, and people that just want to leave their DS at home.
Same. That's the only thing that irritates me about my PSP (and the Vita, though I don't have one). I take care of my stuff, but it still has a small scratch on the screen that happened at some point or another. Not sure how.
I don't use the 3D feature though, so I'm totally fine with the 2DS taking out that feature. TBH, I'd prefer not to have the slider since I don't use it. Occasionally I accidentally touch it and that drives me crazy. The 3D gives me a headache. If the 2DS was clamshell, I'd totally buy one.
I have had my Blue 3DS XL since March 2013, and really like the build quality. My only complaint is that I think I got a faulty one, or somehow got something majorly stuck in the Circle Pad because it tends to be very scratchy, ESPECIALLY compared to my neighbors 3DS XL. I think that the non-glossy inside (Has more texture) makes the Circle Pad catch a little, and it varies in severity from system to system.
Anyway, I like having the ability to fold up the 3DS, especially the 2nd place it can snap into, which is between closed and fully open. I use the 2nd catch to have the 3DS sitting on the computer desk in front of me and still be able to see both screens relatively easily if I am on the computer.
I think the 2DS was actually a good addition to the handheld family, it allows for a new option if the 3DS and 3DS XL are not suitable for some, which is the case for many. Also costs a bit less and is sturdier, which is another couple added bonuses.
I didn't even see the point in the 2DS until reading this thread so wasn't really considering one. Now I actually understand the point of it, I still won't be purchasing one for myself as I love my Pikachu 3DS XL far too much, but am considering one for one of my niece's who is a bit heavy handed for Christmas :3
I don't think anyone can say anything until you have actually held it in your hands
Everyone thought the Wii U gamepad was absolutely dumb when it first came out but if you've actually held it it's pretty comfortable
it is for younger people ugh what do you mean the screen will get scratched more, all of the Gameboys from advanced and before were not clamshell and they were fine
